First time to Emerald Lakes. Solid course with a decent amount of bunkering, including fairway bunkers right at my driving distance. The course was very flat but there was good undulations in the greens. With all of the rain that SEQ has had the fairways were a bit soft and the rough was long enough to hide balls unless you walked near them.

The course rated a few shots easier than par mostly due to its shorter length.

    10. Tin Can Bay*
    11. Gunabul Homestead*

I doubled up with two courses today.

Tin Can Bay was a solid member's track. There are a few too many holes that require negotiating trees to be in position to go at the green for my liking, like needing to draw, fade, or go over them from the tee. Condition was pretty good. The greens didn't look great, but they seemed to roll okay.

Next was Gunabul Homestead, which had 18 par 3s. The greens were like tightly cut fairways, so not great to putt on. The front nine had the bulk of the longer holes back and forth across a dip. The back nine had a bit more variety. Good for a social hack with friends, but not so good if you played comp
    every week there.

I quite enjoyed my round at emerald lakes earlier this year. Always a good day when I break 80 on a course I've never played before, even if it is rated lower because of its length 😅

McLeod was very wet when I played it, so it would be harsh to judge its condition on that. Two greens were in bad condition though; one from birds and the other from weeds.

First time at Parkwood. Pretty good course on a flat piece of land. Houses are on the left for several holes on the front nine, and it looks like they have conceded defeat to the housing with several tees moved forward a long way including one par 4 reduced to a par 3.

Bougle Run, lots of fun but too expensive.
Barny Dunes, I still flip flop on whats better with LF, but I reckon 8 Dunes might give it to LF, dog of a hole. Also Dunes 7 is getting some decent repair work done on it, whole left side bunkers are out of play.
Tam O'Shanter, greens recovering couple of ok holes, but no rush to get back.
Oatlands, was as good as you'll see condition wise for a volunteer run course, interesting design using all of the properties shapes, trees, water and rocks. Could be my favourite Tas 9 holer. Good craic in the bar afterwards as well.

Have a long term goal to play all the courses in Tas. 23 out of 69 so far.

69 could be 73 in a couple of years time as well.

Course closest to me is looking to re-open, but timeline uncertain.
