    Default Ozgolf over the Years

    Hi All,
I was going to slag off Lefty till I realised that this is my 5000th post.
A lot less than some of the guys but it has been 17 1/2 years as part of the Ozgolf community for me! Met a stack of great guys through the site. Sadly, some have passed away…all before their time. In particular, I am sad for the loss of PJ and Daves! Both cracking guys.

Played in several Ozgolf Champs when they were a thing (Pelican Waters). Was even lucky enough to win one! I have always enjoyed the conversations, the arguments…even the nut cases (whats his name from Shepperton?). I have bought and sold probably 300 different clubs in that time. A fair few of you are only one or two degrees of separation from me. I have always felt that deals done through Ozgolf were fair and reasonable. Something you won’t get very often on line.

Most of all, I have enjoyed belonging to a group that loved their golf. I hope I can met a lot more of you on the golf course before my 10000th post.

    Regards,

    Petethepilot (now a pensioner)!

    Nice one, Pete.

Slagging off Lefty might have been appropriate for a milestone post; maybe not for you, but the forum.

And who would have thought that through ozgolf.... nah never mind, what happens in the jungle stays in the jungle.

Pete is a gentleman. I, however, am not. And I fear I will never make it to 5000 posts on here as I continually pass up opportunities to elevate the discourse with quality posts like his, just to go straight to the sugar hit of slagging off Lefty.
Cinderella story, out of nowhere, former greenskeeper, now about to become a Masters champion..... It looks like a mirac.. It's in the hole! It's in the hole!

If about 20 different things lineup, hopefully you’ll get to experience me on a golf course in the not too distant future. What a treat that’ll be.

Ozgolf will always have a special place in my heart. In fact every club in my bag has come through the hands of another ozgolfer.
Around 2019 I completely retreated from social media and the internet, which has been a net positive for me, but I've clearly missed a lot. Including the passing of Daves. My partner's sticks are courtesy of him, and I literally just mowed my lawn with his lawn mower. An absolute gent, and it's really rattled me to find out about it.

Don’t be such a Flog sock.

    Great post Pete.

Keep using centre shafted putters, it saves me money.

If you are ever back in WA, reach out. The new back 9 at Kennedy Bay is actually very good. Hopefully they do something decent with the front now.
