    Default WDYS September 24

The winds were strong today, my buggie was blown away while on the putting green. Plenty of branches down, fairways were pretty messy. Hard to pick the winds up in the hills. Not sure how strong they were but it was easily the worst I have played in.
We decided to play off the green tees today as it was going to be a tough day already. For me it was a stripe show, given the conditions and my first round playing off scratch I wasn't expecting much. I was very happy when I was even thru 9 holes, 1 bogie and 1 birdie. Back 9 was where the course is at its worst. High winds and some of the harder holes. I was 2 over with a shitty 3 putt on 10 and a duffed wedge that I didn't recover from leading to a final hole bogey.
    73/71
    3 bogies
    1 birdie
3rd in comp and nearest 2nd shot on 9 for A grade.

Had a hit today. Plenty of branches and debree around, 2 more trees down, one of them taking out part of the 20th green.
36 points today, good enough for 3rd.
No birdies which was frustrating as I had a few good chances.

Home visiting family, went for a quick whack out at my old stomping grounds, Heywood. Still a bit of wind about, 20-30k breeze most of the day, gusted up to 50 at times. Lots of debris on the ground.

Couple of solid pars to start, then eagled 3. PEFU to give one straight back on 4, then missed very decent birdie chances on the next 4. Bogeyed 9 to turn at even par.

Parred 10 before hitting a high flare on 11 which the wind grabbed and took OB. Birdied second ball for bogey, and bogeyed 12. Birdied 15 and 17 coming home, parring the rest. Just realised now I thought I'd shot 1 over on the day, but actually shot even par. 37 points on the card off 2, I must've marked a score wrong somewhere.

    12 / 14 fairways
    9 / 18 GIR
    9 / 15 up 'n downs
    24 putts

    1 eagle
    2 birdies
    11 pars
    4 bogies

    Started the day D B D P D b D P b for a ridiculous 43.

Then one over the next 4 to be one down on cap after 13. On the 14th tee, I pulled something in my stomach where I had my hernia op, and in some major discomfort finished 12 over for the last 5. It still hurts this morning, so I might have a weekend off golf despite having fun plans lined up.

    Golf. Its a funny game.

No frost or iced over greens?

    Shot an 84/68
Left a few out there too.

It's also Round 1 of club champs qualifiers, we'll see what happens tomorrow!

91/79 in the medal and a snapped driver shaft. Holed a ridiculous putt on 4 for birdie, which my app puts at 72ft. Two holes later I make a quad after putting one ob which led to the driver snappage. What a day.

Sorry, yes, forgot to mention started at 4.30am, so couldn't see anything for the first 6 holes, then once the sun did come up it revealed the ice that I suspected was there but couldn't see.

Then a solar eclipse happened from holes 9-12, excusing my bogeys through that stretch.

Did figure out the birdie I had on 17 I only marked as 3 for 3 points instead of 4, they've re-rated the course with a few green designs and I didn't pick up the 17th is now ranked number 2.

Might be worth calling the club up to complain as I marked the gross score correctly, it's their job to make sure the points tally is correct for the gross score I mark. Very poor from them.

Third round at Proserpine today, starting to get a handle on the greens, putting and chipping was much better today. Course is pretty firm at the moment but I'm sure that will change in the coming months. Driving was a little erratic but the recovery play made up for it.

Had an absolute wanker to be paired with today. He could have been a talk show host, never shut up. 3rd hole I was trying to hit my tee shot, and he was taking like he was on television. So I turned around to tell him to shut the f... up. He straight away was on the phone to the pro shop, telling them that I was being aggressive and he felt in danger. The pro shop never turned up, he was then trying to penailise me 2 shots. After 5 holes I decided he was a big enough f...wit that I would walk off. After reporting the pro shop and telling them that I had left the course and won't be returning a card, I grabbed a bottle of canadian club on the way home and watched some motor racing.
I hope I never have to play with him again, because I would go back to the car and go home.

Well, after a long spell of very ordinary ball striking and scoring (31-33 points etc), finally managed to beat my handicap yesterday. 6 over, playing off 8. Am back to 7 again now. I feel like I've had a bit of an epiphany with my swing, so am looking forward to getting out again in a couple of weeks.

First comp in a while at Proserpine, made the mistake of making a birdie on the first hole, from there it was a trail of bogies and pars.

34 points on Saturday, 33 yesterday. Didn't expect much yesterday after going to the pub Saturday arvo, so reasonably happy with it. The last 4 holes I ran out of energy and only made 6 points.

First game in 12 weeks due to injury. Needed to play yesterday in case my side makes the final in pennant and need minimum games. Managed a win 4 & 3 against one of the worst bad sports I have come across. Made it even sweeter.
