    Default WDYS - July 2024

Mixed bag today. Course was very soggy, game was loose on the front 9. Charged home, unfortunately missed a down-hill slider for par on 18.

It was fking freezing today. No frost but a brutal, cold wind. Give me frost and no wind any day. 88/79 on slick but recently tyned greens, had me clubhouse leader in the early morning wave

86-75 on Wednesday for my first game in a month. 2 birdies, should've been 3 or 4 and 2 of the dumbest triples from wedge knives. But no 3 putts. Also hit a 3 wood 1 meter.

It was all very champs like until I rallied to score 9 points on the last 4 holes to finish on 23.

Pretty consistently ordinary today for 89/78 in the medal. Wasn't helped by a million putts missing right on the edge either. Chipping was unusually shite. Oh well, try again tomorrow.

    Default WDYS - July 2024

07/07/2024, Wolston Park GC, Blue Tees (Scr 65 Sl 117 Par 67), Social.

    Scoring PBPBBPPPP PPPPPPPBB; 38:32:72 (+3:+2:+5).

Hit a few irons fat in the first five holes wasting a couple of opportunities inside 100m but found a groove with the irons after that, hitting every green or fringe after that. I couldn't convert any to birdies unfortunately (11 pars straight though), but the greens are never great on the Sunday and the pins were in tricky spots from monthly medal the day before.

31 points today, another day of burning edges on the putts. 35 bloody putts. I drove it better and chipped better at least. One chip in birdie.

Front & back 9s are like two different golf courses at the moment, at least in my head. Today's round:
    PPPBBPBPP-PPbbbPPPb 69/37pts

Almost identical front 9 - and a tree saved me from a repeat of the 9th from last week. 4 and 5 are hard holes, but I need to find a way.

Putter was really good today - didn't miss a putt inside 6 feet.

Nah, bogied 18 last week - but got revenge today.

But pretty sure the 31 today is my lowest ever 9-hole score.

Changed putter today after not getting anything in the hole on the weekend. It... didn't really improve anything with me leaving half a dozen 6-12 foot putts short or without enough pace to hold the line.

31 points, 35 putts. The rain last night, and a soft and dormant course makes the place challenging, especially as the greens were not rolled this week and are a bit two paced and lumpy.

4BBB Matchplay this weekend, handicap is as high as its been in a while, golf game absolutely stinks to high heaven.

In that case, I'm not impressed.

But pretty sure the 31 today is my lowest ever 9-hole score.
Maybe you need another hit at Wolston Park with a back nine par of 32.

    4BBB handicap Matchplay, round 1.

I shot even par 36 for the front to have us 5 up, we won the match 5/4.

Best front 9 in a very long time. The AI Smoke was on fire

44 points (75 whacks)Started on the back 9 and shot 1 under 34(25 points), birdies on 11 and 15 only bogey being a 3 putt.Got to 14th still 1 under and then went bogey, double, bogey. Bogey on 16 was a three putt as well. And missed gettable birds on 17 & 18. For 19 points.Crazy to have a the best score in forever, but be so close to making/breaking par.Won B grade and good to be hitting the ball well again.

Nice round Steve! Your handicap will get a trimming for that run out!!
