Lie angle of woods
As far as I know most wood heads (including Driver, FW, Util. woods) are forged.
So they should be very easy to bend to a lie angle that suit to different player, right?
But when I look at the hosel I question myself again.
So I just curious is it ok to bend a wood head's lie angle without affect it's performance?

Don't even think about bending one andy. It's not really worth the effort for us mere mortals anyway.
But in reality, the bending of woods has only really been available recently, and you'll find that only the best or biggest company's do it. I'm sure the taylor made pga tour van could do it. But you do need specialised equipment for it.

We have a guy who bends Nakashima woods in NSW, but yes its specialist. Also for drivers the lie angle is not as important as it is for irons as you tee up a driver and you are not hitting the ground. Only certain woods can be bent, you will find all "tour issue" equipment has longer hosels and no paint.

I think Andy just has a thirst for every little piece of info and knowledge he can source.
I collect avatars, Andy collects golf info tid bits.
Of all the info Andy gets or reads, alot of it will be of no use to him. But there will be some he can use =D>

Don't mean to come across as rude, cause I love ya Andylo...but you really need to get a repeatable, dependable swing first, then get fit...otherwise you will get some clubs fitted to a swing that will change...and I have no doubt that yours will change through time!

On a sidenote, you dont really want to bend woods too much cause it destroys them sometimes. You can order in some clubs in certian face angles, PING did it on some of their clubs, and if your friendly with some companies they will do it for you, but I dont really see the point.
Wouldn't you rather just get a square faced driver, cause then you know its only your swing if your not hitting it straight, and that is very fixable, bending back your driver will just weaken and destroy it.

That's been my thinking. I wasn't worrying about shafts, fitting, customisation, etc, until my swing settled down to something consistent.
