Round 2 of clubbies. Birdie on the first hole, looking good, turn at 1 under and just holding on after a couple of bad bounces.
Par on the 10th from the driveway and I thought nothing is going to hurt me. Hit the backside down hill of the bunker on the next par 3 and she shoots over the back. Got back for a bogey, birdie next par 5 and back to 1 under. Par next par 5 after a tough birdie putt, then with 5 holes to go the heat got me. After having covid last week I was still struggling and then I ran out of water, what a friggen rookie mistake. Played the next 5 holes 8 over.
    78/75
    4 birdies

Did you start topping a heap of shots once the heat fatigue set in by any chance.
That’s what happened to me a few weeks ago when I was severely affected by heat (no water mistake too)

    Default WDYSTM - February 2024

Got 2 rounds in on the 5th and last day (Friday) of my trip.

    Round 1
    Solo social at Heywood
Patches of good ball striking interrupted by compounded errors. Combine that with poor chipping and putting (hole was looking like a thimble) the score added up.

    BpBBbDpBD ppBDBBbBT
    2x birdies
    6x Effective drives
    31 putts
    1x 3 jiggle
    1x hosel rocket

    Round 2
    Solo social at Hamilton
Struck the ball pretty good mostly and had a number of good looks at birdie but putted like a muppet and couldn’t convert the good. Too many loose drives resulted in having to rely on a poor up and down game.

    pBbppBDDp bBpBpBBpB
    2x birdies
    7x effective drives
    33 putts
    1x 3 jiggle

No, still hit it well but with not much control.

1 red in a par event (such an awesome format) for +4.

Nowhere near winning as the usual longer markers took advantage of the format that suits them better than low markers.

Still, nice to hit it half-decent.

Played some truly horrendous shots so i’m well placed to go Champ to NAGA ….

30 points today. Started well with a par, was hitting it pretty well too but forgot how to putt, and it started leaking into the rest of the game. Sorta came back with 17 on the back 9 but too late really.

You'll need to drop that total by 10 points, BACK-TO-BACK.

Don't think you have those two scores in you.

30 points Sat. With 3 birdies! Lots of silly shots, and general awfulness. Can't wait for the weather to cool down and dry out a bit.

Had a cracker on Saturday but could have been even better. Shot 70 with 41 points. Still only good enough for second in division 1. Lipped birdie putts on 11, 16, 17 and 18 but very happy with my game at the moment. 7 of my 8 flags are in my last 9 rounds so my game has been very consistent.

Bit of a wasted opportunity today. Bunch of soft bogies, and could've sunk a couple more putts. Drove the green on 16 and left the eagle putt short

I had a totally honest 36 points today. I didn't hit the ball really well, but didn't make many mistakes and did well around the greens to save a lot of pars.

The big news was my playing partner, a guy who struggles with arthritis at times. Today was one of those times, and he had 5 points on the front nine while trying to find a grip that worked. He almost doubled his score on the 10th, and came home with 17 points on the nine. yep, a split of 5/17 for 22.

I can't get the driver on the planet at the moment. Saw a new Scotty Cameron that might fix it though.

    Default WDYSTM - February 2024

17/02/2024, Wolston Park GC, Blue Tees (Scr 65 Sl 117 Par 67), Social (preferred lies, bunkers out of play).

    Strokes Gained (SG) vs Scratch.

    Scoring PbPPBPPBP PPPPPPPbB; 36-32-68 (+1:E:+2).
    Played to 2.9. Self-calculated handicap 4.8 (-0.1).

Equal lowest score versus par, and lowest on the current layout of my home course. I averaged 3.9 across the nine par 4s.

Still playing the best golf of my life. Good dispersion on the driver although a bit leftish, irons were straight with plenty of GIR, and the short game and putting rarely lets me down.

33 points yesterday at home. Ball striking wasn't too bad but too many stupid mistakes in the short game cost me.

Played at Brisbane GC today and had a reasonable front 9 of 16 points, hit some nice irons into the greens, didn't make any birdies from them but avoided 3 putt bogeys. Unfortunately on the back 9 the driver was horrible, lost one in the bush right on 12 (our 10th) and put myself in shit position on 3 other holes with duck hooks. Hit some rubbish chips and pitches as well. Came back with 12 points 👎

-3 in a par comp yesterday. Didn't have my A game.

    PBPBBBPBP-PPPPbXBbB 79/75

Was trying a few different clubs at the top of my bag, but didn't really come off; SIM ti 3w is a rocket but a bit wild (shaft is probably too light), and 3h isn't as reliable off the tee as the 3i was. I was hoping my new hollow 4i would be good enough - but 10m difference on the launch monitor translated to a bigger difference on course with soft, wet fairways.

I shot 29 over my handicap last weekend.

    I play of 6.2

Lost 6 balls and an unplayable from up a ball stuck up a tree.

It was stroke and round 1 of the club championships.

Ironically I didn't come last in A grade.
