2024 Edition.

Rules below:

• For those unfamiliar, an eclectic score is your best gross score on each hole of your course over a given period of time.
• This Eclectic runs from 1 January to 31 December.
• Scores from any official club competition round (stroke, par, stableford) played during the dates above are permitted (no social rounds).
• To enter, you need to record the following:
  • Course
  • Length/ Index/ Pars of each hole
  • Your gross scores for those holes
• As you play rounds during the year and improve on those gross scores, you need to post your improvements.

You can get a copy of my pre-formatted Google Sheets Eclectic here. All you need to do is change the Course Name and Length, Par & Index for each hole (Google account required).

Not been the best ball-striking start to the year but I am somehow scraping 30+ point scores off my lowest hcap... hopefully some real good golf coming soon

What’s the best way for this on a 27 hole course where there are 3 composite courses?
3 separate sheets or a 27 hole eclectic?

Probably a 27 eclectic.

This thread was quiet last year, but I still kept track of it.

Things of note:
- Same eclectic score of 52 (-15) for all four years of tracking at Wolston Park.
- Adding tracking of birdies vs doubles or worse ratio and retrospectively added it for previous years. This is an area of big improvement. 2024 - 94%; 2023 - 80%; 2022 - 70%; 2021 - 48%. I actually averaged less birdies last year but also avoided trouble more. Currently at 400% from two rounds this year.
- Not having a single blowout on the 1st is a shock, because I know I hit it in the water several times.
- Kept one hole under par for the whole year (10th). There was a little bit of pressure to keep it that way later in the year too.
- The 6th went from being my easiest hole in 2023 to my 8th hardest. Must keep away from the left side.
- The 12th played the hardest for me. I have trouble keeping it on the green because missing short is really bad.
- Too many blowouts on 5, 12, and 16. I think I need to avoid the encroaching trees and just get the approaches near the green and be happy to take bogies more often.

Ooh, I forgot to post results also.

I had to split it in 2, as the course has been changed up while the 10th gets rebuilt.
