Usually not much to any half decent golfer because to make up for it we get Bunkers as GUR, preferred lies through the course, and the greens get real slow so you can just bash the ****ing thing at the hole.

The women and older boys struggle, of course.

Bogeyed the first, birdied the 4th, didn't take the flag out on 9 being lazy so the ball bounced off it from 6 foot and parred the rest for 37.

Parred 10-14, made a great up and down from trouble on 15, birdied 16, made an even better up and down for bogey on 17, and lipped out 18.

41 points, 75 golf shots, equal second best round off the blues. Good times.

33 points this morning. Big flyers out of longer-than-usual wet grass on 1, 2 and 4 lead to a double (OOB) and two bogies. Had some 4-5 really good birdie looks on the back and only converted one of them.

    XBbBPPPPP-PBPPbBPPP 74/33pts

Felt like I was protecting my handicap before Vic Champs. I wasn't, just felt that way. Could've easily been a 68.

Probably only fit 10-12 rounds before champs. Reckon I'll get a few new low flags in that time though, feel like I'm hitting it alright.

Considering a 7 'cap is the lowest to ever win Champs, where's your cut off point? If he hits 2, will you go?

And we all know stableford favours high handicappers...

Except there may be one 12-15 handicapper amongst us that can actually use their brain and figure out the best way to play par, and shoot +12 over the two rounds.

Have you got back-to-back 68's in you???

That line exactly describes our course conditions today after 150mm of rain on Monday. As an older boy, I normally struggle in such conditions because of the lack of run, but I had a good day today for 37 points.

There was an element of smoke and mirrors about it, as I had a very good day around the greens. After four days of rain I was just happy to get out of the house, and a good score is a bonus.

I don't have one 68 in me, let alone two. And anyway, I had a 5-pointer last champs, don't want to waste that if there's no triple-plus - so let's stick to stableford.

80/73 at Toowoomba (Middle Ridge) today. Pretty good considering I've never played there before. I really enjoyed it, Kikuyu fairways are always great to hit from, and I had some fun zipping a few back on the greens, which were nice to putt on as well.

Not sure if I got the NTP on the third, but I hit a dead straight 6 iron from 165 at it to 2m. Made the birdie. Will go back again for sure.

An all too familiar low 30 point round today. 30 to be exact off 12. Feel like I played really well in parts. 3 Wipes hurt at key times when I was building momentum.
The good: 5 wood off the tee, mid irons, chipping and putting.
The bad: driver horrendous, pulled wedge approaches.

Reload next week and go again. I still feel like my game is trending up so have to trust the process and be patient.

Crappy 28 points yesterday, never much fun when it's humid as hell and no wind.

Today wasn't much better for conditions, then it rained halfway through the front 9 just to ensure everything was slippery, but I did play better for 34 points. The back 9 was better after the rain stopped, it cooled down a bit and the breeze decided to make an appearance.

Tomorrow sounds like it's gonna be like yesterday again so that'll be a barrel of laughs 🙄

    30 point in total today
10/14 fairways hit with the driver
    1 GIR
    2 x wipes and 5 x 1 pointers
38 or 39 putts with 5 x 3 putts. Never have felt comfortable with this putter so time to try an old one, but at the same time the greens are very inconsistent (as one of teh guys in my group said to the club captain in far harsher words in casual chat)
Did finally manage to par 13 in competition play. Forst time so awaesomely happy with that and more because it was one of teh fairways I well missed.

Not sure how to feel. Had a few good looks at birdie early on that I didn't convert, but did get up and down a few times where maybe I didn't deserve to. 15 was a disaster - almost topped a 3 wood, then 3 putted for double.

40 points (+5 gross) on Sat. 17 & 23 (played the back 9 first). Was enough to win A grade in very wet and steamy conditions.
Hadn't played in a month and missed a few makeable putts on the first 9, but the rest was pretty good, surprisingly. Down to 8.9 hcap now, am happy to be heading in the right direction.

14-20/34 today off 6. 3 kakaas. Hit two terrible tee shots early which led to wipes. The rest was solid, should be a flag and another cap drop.
