the women soccer players will be demanding more money now that they perform better than the blokes.

Catley's marking for the last was fairly horrendous too. Even when she saw Russo collecting the ball she still made no effort to get across and push her wider and pressure the shot.

If you're going to set up and play a signature "defence-first", counter-attack style of football you can't be done by two goals like that.
100% agree Lefty. Poor errors at that level, basic stuff. Even in the first half, we just kept giving the ball away too easily when in possession, and often in dangerous positions.

It was the same in the first half against France, too. You can't press, win the ball back, and then give it away immediately without compromising any tactics or plans for the game. And it just needlessly tires out players.

But overall England were better on the night... tactically, technically and more experienced. Their game control was very good.

PS: Not bad analysis for a Gooner, well done!

Saw an interview with a prior Matilda, who played in one of the cups where they made the quarters, and she said that tournament the players made $750 each.
The nettballers who just won the world cup in SA got zero. No prizemoney at all for that tournament.

    That was pretty sweet.

Gave everyone hope for a small amount of time.. and that goal was freaking awesome.

So they should. That was the highest rating thing on TV in >20 years. More than half the country watched it. No socceroos match has ever come close.
Cinderella story, out of nowhere, former greenskeeper, now about to become a Masters champion..... It looks like a mirac.. It's in the hole! It's in the hole!

Or it’s just that as an arsenal fan you have a lifetime of experience in analyzing teams that look good for a while but don’t actually lift the trophy.
