    Default 2023 US Open

Just under 2 weeks out for this year,s hack fest.i don't know anything about the course. Last played here in 1948 when Hogan prevailed, I gather.

Interesting watch the Euro vs US Tour events this weekend. Two tough but quite different courses. I think I prefer the Green Monster. I particularly like the finishing par 5. A little bit Pebble Beach like wi the tree in the landing area. But the Green orientation is what really makes it for me.
As a talking point for those that know it, it bring to my mind the 17th hole at Mount Warren Park, with a similar green with water in front set up.

Fried Egg did a great video of the course post restoration available on YouTube - NLU also played it off the front tees

Looks quirky, looks interesting. Its wide for a US Open, so I suspect pins will be tucked into tiny corners

    US Open starts Thursday.

Some US Open rough has been grown in from various tweets.

Watched the NLU ep the other night, very quirky, hope to see people go for the 6th and the short 3 made to be real short.

I'm sure a lot saw the video of the fast greens and impossible rough recently. Going to be a grind for a lot of players.
A long course, with misses getting you in big trouble.

With two 62s, I expect the pins to be cut on 45 degree slopes tomorrow

Morgan Pressel - I didnt know that people ACTUALLY speak like that. She sounds like a cartoon character for 3 year olds. This should be her first and only commentary gig. Not just talks through her nose but also from the back of her throat, impressive, but I had to turn the volume down before she said OMG for the 70th time.

And yeah - no one shoots 62 at a US Open and gets away with it. They are probably mixing concrete into the watering system right now.

    Great looking course though !

Elvy won't shut up and destroys the telecast. He's worse than Gow.

I had it on mute in the background - I suspect missing Luke Elvy made it a better coverage

Great to hear an Aussie on the telecast rather than the usual seppo bobbleheads. Onya Elvis.

How are you guys dealing with the ads. This is almost impossible to watch live which i guess is good for us with the time zones.
Seriously - it is 5 shots and then the same 4 ads then another 5 shots and the same 4 ads.

I am watching it in delay from last night - but the amount of fast forwarding is getting insane.

My guess this is why we have Luke and that other dude talking through the coverage from the live feed as opposed to the American feed.

I only watched live from this morning but I didn’t see a single ad. It had the US feed mixed with world feed (Elvy & Bacon). I assume the latter was when the seppos were cutting to commercial and if so that’s brutal for them.
Cinderella story, out of nowhere, former greenskeeper, now about to become a Masters champion..... It looks like a mirac.. It's in the hole! It's in the hole!

Has got better once NBC took over. but it was just brutal - 2 hours of ad breaks very 90 seconds.

And is Brian Harmon's putter head big enough ?
