    Default Balmain golf to reopen

    Benny ( Gerry’s son) will be reopening Balmain golf in the near future.
    He would love to see everyone in there and support from the golfing community.
    I am sure the banta and memory’s will live on.
    Looking to be around July.

    Balmain Golf has officially reopened!

    New trading hours:
    Open 7 days 10am-6pm
    Late night shopping Thursdays 10am-9pm

    The new owners are absolute legends and they have big plans for the shop. I’m sure my dad, Gerry Leahy, would be so proud knowing that the business he started 35 years ago will be in excellent hands.

    That’s great news.

    How are they going to fit a sim in there? The whole charm of the place was being barely able to walk due to it being wall to wall clubs!
    Cinderella story, out of nowhere, former greenskeeper, now about to become a Masters champion..... It looks like a mirac.. It's in the hole! It's in the hole!

    Hi Rick,
    one of my highlights of visiting Sydney would be going to visit Gerry at Balmain Golf.
    A 10 minute visit would last an hour or more. Lots of great clubs and always a funny interesting conversation with Gerry.

    I remember his first store at the bottom of Darling Street.

    I bought my first decent driver (at the time) there - the Great big Bertha. Nows there’s a blast from the past

    He was a real character and is missed by many. I first met Gerry when he was selling golf clubs from his home before he moved to Darling St. I used to love watching him interact with customers, he was a unique man and lived a very full life. I miss my regular visits.
