    Default Tennis Elbow

Any tips to speed up the recovery process?
Had it for about 6 weeks, tried rest and physio but no real change or improvement.

Super frustrating as I just started getting back into Golf in Feb and rejoined my old club.

Goonie I don't know what ultimately got rid of mine, but I can say it took months and months and months.

Was shut for my tennis and worse for my golf.

I think it was not playing that did it, but I'd be interested in knowing if you find a short cut as I suspect it will return for me at some point.

    It was a PITA

    YES!!

    1. avoid grass mats at all costs - for ever.
    2. avoid golf and anything that has impact to the right arm, anything that will hit that elbow joint
3, buy a cheap tens machine for 30 bucks. Lowest setting on massage - trash that muscle or if you dont want TENS machine one of those wrist spinner things

one day rest and one day trash it. You have to let it have a day of rest.

lastly learn the three stretches for it.

had it, hate it ... keep the stretches going to keep it away.

It is in my left arm (right handed), the physio said the muscles in my right arm were just as bad if not worse I just hadn't damaged the tendons, I guess the right arm is stronger due to the squash I play, and I just did to much too quick, a net session, 18 holes and a demo day in less than a week was too much.

I have been doing the first 2 stretches a lot, and massage, I will look at the other exercises and Tens machine, thanks.

Mine hung around for months, I used a band on my elbow and could still play golf but I ended up getting Cortisone injection - this was about 3 years ago. Been good ever since.

I tried the arm band, but on Sunday it felt like I was playing 1 handed a few holes in.

Did you have to see a specialist for the cortisone injection?

Yep, had ultrasound so they could locate exact spot and then did the injection on the spot. So far I have had injection on back of right hand (hit a tree root) and to help with left shoulder torn rotator cuff. All been good so far...fingers crossed@!!

About 3 months in and no real improvement, did some more research, and found out about the Theraband Flexbar. I have only been using it for a few days for a few exercises (mainly Tyler Twist) but it has already reduced the pain significantly, I am hoping some reports of getting back to normal in 4-6 weeks are true, hopefully if it keeps going this well I will be able to start hitting some wedges in the next week or 2.

I had it a few years ago for 12-18 months. I tried a few cortisone injections which only lasted a couple of weeks each time. My sister suggested needling as it had helped a friend of hers. I was sceptical, but I was also desperate so I gave it a go. I had 2 or 3 sessions and felt a small improvement, but I had basically resigned myself to being stuck with it. Then it was gone shortly after. I’ve been told by others that it will eventually go away on its own, so I’m not sure if that was the case or if it was definitely the needling. It might be worth a go.
