Maybe they were really excellent possessions?
He must have good table manners too.

Can't see the powers that be ever taking away the voting by umpires unfortunately.
It's so swayed to be forever an onballers medal while it is.

But every other best player of the year award is as well, the way the game is played pretty much guaranteed it will be a on baller. Not even a once in a generation Forward in Buddy could win one.

The top 6 in the Brownlow were the same top 6 in the coaches’ votes.

Maybe its because the onballers are the best players.

That's a rather odd way of looking at it. They have a certain skill set, same as the forwards, same as the back men, same as the rucks, same as the wingers.

They got beaten by 4 goals and didn't kick a goal after 3/4 time. How many of his "disposals" were effective? Shit stat.

Stats are not the be all and end all for best players.
Kick ins from full back and waxing kicks back and side ways running down the clock are counted. Meaningless in the context of how well/effective/influential a player was.

Best way to be noticed by the umpires is be the at the bottom of a pack handing the ball back to the umpires with good table manners.

Who won? Is waking up at 6am on the couch still wearing collingwood gear and surrounded by a huge pile of empty cans (and one 3/4 full one) a good sign?

And no hangover... must have slept so early.
