Anyone know where I can have a zip replaced, prefer Melbourne eastern suburbs?

    G’day Broso.

We don’t replace zips, we buy new stuff. Or second hand stuff. Probably a putter.

What about a bootmaker / shoe repairer, if they still exist?

Thanks for your replies, bootmaking seems to be a dying trade, the Mister Minits only do the basic stuff. I had one lined up on a friend’s recommendation but when I visited his shop I found a note announcing his retirement!

Maybe a Canvas place could help? As an upholsterer, I'd be saying I can't do it - partially because I wouldn't want to, but also because I couldn't! May need a special machine to get into the place.

For such a niche repair I think you've got away with that very cheaply.

Normally I would agree with you!
But for a place called "Walkalong Bag Repairs", it doesn't sound that niche!

Not boutique, not flashy, but definitely niche, this business completes repair services from a range of dying trades/arts. They did a great job.

I was taking the piss! I only called it "not niche", because they're called "Walkalong Bag Repairs", so clearly a market. That's all.
It's actually bloody niche! I wouldn't have touched it.

Niche is a business that focuses on bag zippers only, not any old fix of a bag.
