As stated, If your game is on at the Old, you can have lots of short birdie tries. If it is off, it is severe.
I have had 68 around the Old….followed by a 92 next time I played it. That wouldn’t happen to me on most courses!

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.
WGC is predominantly member play. Clubs will let u play but charge u appropriately for the premium.
StAB etc are visitor play in a price sensitive market. Too expensive and they starve, hence the greater affordability.

Are you talking about woodlands?
If so 3-8?? 3 yes, 4 YES, 5 yeah, 6 is boring, similar to but weaker than 9 at Royal Adelaide, 7 Yes, 8 yes-ish. The highlight of that run is definitely 4 and the combo of 3 into 4 is great.
15 as one of the best part 5’s in the country is a bit of a stretch.
Bland tee shot, somewhat interesting second with a bit of risk/reward thinking in play and the green is solid. The 2nd is a waaaaaaaay better par 5 than 15 but I wouldn’t even call that one of the best.
Its like Blondes and Brunettes Bushy. We all choose to agree and disagree. The teeshot seems bland (yes) but you r up shit creek on the second shot if your teeshot is not on the fwy. The green is a absolute killer! Most well travelled sandbelt dudes rate it…but I respect your opinion.

Member-Guest rate I am aware of: *Unless they went up in '23 as not 100% sure on that
RM is $135.00
PK is $125.00
Kinston Heath is $150.00
Metro is $130.00
Edit: I went and looked back at info for our trip. TS is right RM is $750.00 plus you have to take a caddie. All 4 above require a caddie be taken if you play unaccompanied.

Played Moonah and Gunnamatta on Friday. Both are immaculately presented golf courses, and offer stern tests. Despite sitting on similar land, they are two very different courses.
Moonah is a big boys course, where there are some shots requiring courage, and a long and straight driver. The greens are a touch receptive, and it was an absolute blast. Bunkers were deep and challenging, but if you were in them, you had a small chance to get up and down.
Gunnamatta - shorter, but not easier. I really did not like the greens - too firm, and good shots were spat out regularly. If you found a buunker, it was unlikely you could put it within 30 feet. In many cases, the best place to land is 5m off the green and play for luck. If the greens were softened in slopes by 10%, I might find it more enjoyable, but I prefer StAB over it without even thinking twice.
