    15/02/2023, Corinda 9, Blue Tees (Par 31).

    Strokes Gained (SG) vs Scratch

    Scoring: PPPPBBBPP; 34 (+3)

I didn't hit enough greens, but they are small and it was blustery. The short game made up for it, with the exception of shanking pitch shots again. The driver only makes an appearance twice on this course, and it was fine.

84/74 today. Swing felt better than it has been the last two or three weeks, it certainly was off the tee hitting 10/14 fairways. Had a ridiculous quad bogey on 11 when I lost my tee shot then hit the next one into a hazard, and finished with a stupid triple after having some bunker issues. The other ten holes from 7 I made par on, the short game helping out on a few of them. 7 greens, 30 putts, avg drive 249m, longest 275.

    Default WDYSTM - February 2023

16/02/2023, Cranbourne GC, White Tees (Scr 71 Sl 124 Par 72), Stableford / Vic Champs Warmup.
    Scoring 43:46:89 (+7:+10:+17); stab 26pts.
    Played to 16.4. Golflink 7.6 (+0.0).
Terrible putting, with some other trashy shots. Carpet putting in the motel room fixed up the putting for the coming days.

17/02/2023, Woodlands GC, Purple Tees (Scr 71 Sl 129 Par 72), Stableford / Vic Champs Uncivil War.
    Scoring (17 holes - Par 67) 45:40:85 (+9:+9:+18); stab 12:11:23pts; matchplay 2 and 1.
Still trashy, but I had a hot patch in the middle on four shot holes where I did golf.

18/02/2023, St Andrew's Beach, White Tees (Scr 71 Sl 135 Par 70), Stableford / Vic Champs Round 1.
    Scoring 40:36:76 (+5:+1:+6); stab 17:22:39pts.
    Played to 4.2. Golflink 7.1 (-0.5).
Kept getting up and down, and the putter wouldn't miss.
Vic Champs day winner and SAB comp winner.

20/02/2023, The Dunes GC, White Tees (Scr 71 Sl 135 Par 72), Stableford / Vic Champs Round 2.
    Scoring 40:46:86 (+4:+10:+6); stab 17:13:30pts.
    Played to 11.7. Golflink 7.1 (-0.0).
Hit enough greens, but wore penalties for the horrible shots that kept appearing throughout the weekend.
    Vic Champs overall runner-up.

21/02/2023, Sandringham GC, Purple Tees (Scr 67 Sl 114 Par 65), Stableford / Vic Champs Cooldown.
    Scoring (B9 start) 37:43:80 (+5:+10:+15); stab 18:12:30pts.
    Played to 12.9. Golflink 7.1 (-0.0).
Struggled on the greens and continued to have misses that were big misses.

Strokes Gained (SG) vs Scratch for whole trip

After a pretty ordinary 89/79 yesterday I had a much better day today shooting 78 for 37 points. Could have been a couple better without 3 putting on 4 and 9. Nearly holed out for eagle on the first from about 60 out, dunno how close it actually was to going in but the birdie putt was under a foot. Almost did it again for birdie with a similar shot on 12. 6 fairways and greens, 30 putts.

What a weekend. After waking up on Saturday and not being able to walk, let alone mumble 2 words together, I went back to bed.
Sunday booked in, stayed off the piss for the night, teed off at 8.53am. Felt a bit crappy still, so followed with a very strong duck hook off the first. This was going to require a bit of effort today, head and guts still not good.
6 over 14 points thru 9, I was in horrible shape. Had a pep talk with a mate at the turn who told me I was playing quite shit, probably the shitest he has seen in a while. So I manned up, sculled a can of CC and ripped what would have been the best average drive of the day(least it was on the fairway). That CC did the trick, 1under 22 points coming home for 36 for the day
    2 birdies
    1 double
    10 pars
    4 GIR
    4 fairways
    25 putts

    Nice one, Joe.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

Midweek medal. Two over through 9, feeling good.

Shank on 10, double. 3 putt from 10 foot on 12, back to square with cap but all ok as the tees were back and pins were tucked.

Got to index 17 14th. OOB by an inch after a shockingly unlucky bounce, hit a provisional thinking there was a 99% chance it was in.... the provisional catches a branch and leave me dead behind trees, where I knifed my approach through the green into a garden. The garden was in play, I hit a tree, the ball went back to the garden, pitch back through the green, chip, two putts. 9.

FFS. Might have next weekend off golf.
