It'd be mixed feelings for me I think.

Anyway, I went for a hit at Virginia today just for something to do, ended up shooting 83 for 34 points off 10. Most of my shots were alright, a few loose ones as expected, but the putting killed it. I didn't necessarily putt badly, just couldn't quite get the speed and line right often enough. 35 putts is pretty ordinary. The highlight of the day was a 2 putt birdie on the 13th, and even that was a
little bit disappointing because I had the line on the first putt and didn't bloody hit it hard enough.
Overall though I enjoyed myself and a couple more rounds back at Oxley tomorrow and Thursday to finish up my holidays and see how much further I can drop my GA. Not sure if today's round will have any effect on it yet.

I know, I was annoyed at myself for that 😂 however it was the theme of the day unfortunately. I couldn't get the pace of the greens today, they were slower than I'm used to I guess. I left quite a few short which is unlike me.

37 points this morning which might win me a ball, hitting a grand total of 2 fairways. Highlight was holing out my second on the 410m par 4 12th from 139m with a 9 iron for a 2/5 - probably the longest shot I have ever holed out, and we watched it bounce, spin and trickle in.

    410 - 139 = 271

Slightly downhill tee shot 3pp... and apologies, its only 385, and the pin was cut about 4m on the front of the 40m long green.

But it was a 2 and I was stoked.

    Got ya WB.

38 (16/22) this morning off the blues, course in mint condition, despite some overnight rain plenty of run for the older brigade.

Tweaked my back on the 9th hole, hobbled around but must have done something for my putting, 10 putts on the back nine.

    Default WDYSTM - January 2023

22/01/2023, McLeod GC, White Tees (Scr 70 Sl 131 Par 71), Stableford.

    Strokes Gained (SG) vs Scratch

    Scoring: BBPXBBPXB BBPXXPPXP; 47:44:91 (+10:+10:+20); stab 25pts.

    Played to 16.4. Golflink 7.7 (+0.4).

Back to playing bad. My game was broken and I couldn't even make much of a second nine rally, like I usually can. Five shanks in total, including back-to-back shank chips on 13, at which point I threw a tantrum. Now, I'm a bit demoralised that I've fallen so far from a month ago. Maybe I can blame the speed training.....

The positive is that I was hitting some long and straight drives in the last few holes after adding a bit of anger to them.

Not to worry. I nearly holed out from 50m on a short par 3 a couple of weeks ago. It was pretty exciting for a second or two.

I'm pretty confident the hole was in the 110-130m range, he was just still 50m out after his tee shot.

Joke’s on you mate. Tees were forward to a front pin. Nowhere near 110.

40 points in a 4BBB shotgun start today, me off 8 and the other guy off 3. I made the lone birdie between us after hitting a 54° wedge exactly 100 metres to about 2 feet on the penultimate hole.
Normal Stableford comp tomorrow to finish off my holidays.

Didn't do much today with 29 points either, not helped by the round taking 5½ hours because of bloody slow groups ahead. Gives me the shits waiting around for a million years before every shot.
