    Default 2023-4 OZgolf Punters Club

    Hey punters

BITS has handed over the administration of the OZgolf Punters Club to me.

Currently we have the below punters invested in the club. If you would like to withdraw or gain entry, please let me know ASAP before we kick things off again. The current total is nearly $2100, so the payout/entry would be about $120, but I can finalise that when the current rotation finishes.

I'm not going to change much, so I have copied the same rules below. I'll bump up the betting amount based on where the total ends up. I'll randomise the order again also.

Please keep the administration for this as easy as possible. Make the bets as clear as possible in this thread, maybe even a screenshot from Ladbrokes or another betting app, so I know exactly what I am betting on. Make sure you keep an eye on this thread for when it is your turn. I will not be chasing people via PMs or text messages.

    Rules:
    1. A once off payment of $181.87 secures you a share in the club. (payment to be made to OZgolf)
    2. A roster will be drawn up and posted so everyone knows in what order they will be betting.
    3. We will be using a Ladbrokes account. AndyP will place all bets to protect the account security.
    4. If you double the money that you have bet, then you can punt again, i.e for a $60 outlay, a minimum of $240 collect is required to bet again. A bonus bet may count towards this.
    5. Winnings to be distributed when everyone has punted or we will keep rolling.
    6. We will only use the Punters Club thread on ozgolf.net for posting bets, and you will have 7 days to acknowledge that it is your turn and 14 days total to place your bet(s), before we move on to another punter. No other messaging services or PMs will be used, so if you are in the punters club, check OZgolf for updates. (Thread subscription link for immediate or daily notifications)
    7. Have fun and win lots.

Ok, let's go with this for the other $100:
Matt Fitzpatrick and Viktor Hovland to both have top 20s at Pebble Beach, and Man Utd to beat Nottingham Forrest in the Carabao Cup.

They're creating chances, just not finding the back of the net.

There we go. They nearly butchered it, but 1-0.

I'm surprised that you didn't comment on Lucas betting on Arsenal.

I've already counted that as a losing bet.

Everton have been dog shit all season, but have just fired their manager, the perfect dead cat bounce scenario. $8 for the Toffees? Get on board.

Cam Smith is good, but he's not good enough to come back from missing the cut and win.

You were correct, who would of thought 600 million GBP could not buy you a goal

Man U win. Hovland currently at T11 through 2 rounds, with Fitzpatrick at T50. Still alive.

With Lucas finished, I'm up now.

Fitzpatrick was looking good until playing his last 3 in +3 this morning. Still a chance though.

Yep. Maybe if they spent an even £1bn pound they might be able to score a solitary goal.

We'll give him a chance to see if he can shoot the lights out in the last round and a bit.

I've placed a 3 leg tennis multi for $103 at $2.94 boosted to return $302.82.
    • Coric over Thiem ($1.48) in the Croatia vs Austria Davis Cup tie. Thiem has a 3-2 record over him, but is nowhere near the player that he used to be. [tonight our time]
    • Garcia over Parks ($1.22) in the WTA final in Lyon. [tonight]
    • Huesler over Assche ($1.55) in the first round of the ATP tournament also in France. [tomorrow evening]
I'm leaving myself $47, because I've been burnt by a player withdrawal that reduced the odds before.

Coric won, Garcia lost in two tight sets. I regularly tell myself not to bet on women's tennis, yet here we are.

Fitzpatrick missed the cut, so BYU is gone. Toxic, you're up.

I've bet my remaining $47 and made it to just get over the $300 potential return ($300.33) at $6.39. Here it is:
    JOHN ISNER VS CHUN-HSIN TSENG
    John Isner 2-0 (Set Betting)
    Tuesday, 7 Feb 2:00am
    Fixed Win @ 1.75

    RADU ALBOT VS LIAM KRALL
    Radu Albot (Match Betting)
    Tuesday, 7 Feb 2:00am
    Fixed Win @ 1.04

    EMILIO GOMEZ VS TARO DANIEL
    Taro Daniel 2-0 (Set Betting)
    Tuesday, 7 Feb 2:00am
    Fixed Win @ 2.10

MARC-ANDREA HUESLER VS LUCA VAN ASSCHE
    Marc-Andrea Huesler (Match Betting)
    Tuesday, 7 Feb 7:00pm
    Fixed Win @ 1.55

    Go Albot!
