    Default Coomealla Golf Club

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but the fourth tee at my home course has changed a bit in the last fortnight.

Heartbroken, I have not played for a couple of months, but knowing this has happened hurts a lot...years to recover apparently.

    No good!

My course has had sections under water a couple of times in the last 12 years. Why will it take years to recover? Has it been like that for a fair while?

Depends on how long the water stays there I guess. Sandy gallop has been under water multiple times this year, and there's really only 1 green that's suffering a bit. Water only stayed up for a few days each time though.

Corowa lower 18 is under water..they are predicting 12 months until it grows back, and the loss of up to 100 mature trees.

Howlong last week was pushup greens above water only, and Yarrawonga Murray has all but 1, 17 and 18 under water.

It's going to take a while for these to recover, especially as the flood water is now so contaminated

Weeks under water, and the flood water is absolutely filthy. The stuff at Coomealla would have been flood water for 1000km before it made it there

River Flat clay courses don’t dry out quickly.
Any idea how Riverside Mildura is looking @Toolish? Is that now under water too?

12 months to grow back could kill the club, they've struggled recently by all reports

That 9 up the top is going to be real busy and cop a hammering.
The day we played at Corowa in early October we only saw 2 other groups out on the course.
Club house was empty and only 2 people in the Pokie Room. There was more staff than customers if you count the Kitchen.

I live in one of the highest areas in Mildura so no problem there thanks for asking.

This is the levee letting go next to the eighth fairway at Coomealla.

Somewhat ironically we won men and women local pennant this weekend. Pennant champs with no home course!

Just got a letter from the club saying that they are growing grass somewhere else as they are not sure if the water will be gone before March and if the grass isn't down by then it wont work as it goes dormant over winter. Sounds like they are expecting the water to hang around for a long time.

Guess I am having a few more months off! Haven't played since August so no big deal I guess.

Playing at Redcliffs not an option? I rate the course.
I'd play no Golf if Mildura Country Club was the only option

Yeah, Red Cliffs is an option, just prefer Coomy...to be honest through summer I struggle to find time either way!

Course reopened yesterday. My first round back tomorrow. I haven't played a round since August last year, went to the range last weekend to try to remember how to hold the club. Like a kid before Christmas today!!

    That’s excellent news mate.
I must get up that way for a weekend sometime this year for a hit.

17 opened, plus the 19th is in play. Prefered lies in play at the moment.
