Default Callaway Epic Max Driver Adjustment

Recently bought a Callaway Epic Max Driver off Ebay that didnt come with a tool. Asked the guy if he had one I could have and he sent me a Ping Tool new in the packet.
Was told by a friend that these tools have different torque settings in the tool and it was possible to overtighten the Head and destroy the Drivers head.
So I am too scared to tighten the driver to the shaft until it clicks... am I being too paranoid or should I just tighten the driver to the shaft until it feels firm?
Or should I find a proper Callaway Epic Tool? (Havent been able to find the correct tool on Ebay or at Online golf Stores)
    Cheers

    Just tighten until firm.

Does your friend have any doco to support that Ping and Callaway wrenches have different torque settings?

Thousands of golf shops worldwide will use whatever wrench is on hand, rather than look for the matching brand.

    Click away.

They probably do have slightly different Torques, but I have never found it an issue using different brand wrenches. The worst that could likely happen is the screw strips or cross threads in the adapter. But that is unlikely if you are careful and make sure the head is sitting on the adapter correctly and go slowly on starting the thread, so as to not cross thread it. Any Callaway Tool should be fine, it doesn't have to be an Epic version.

We mostly used either Callaway or ping in the shop for every driver. Only exception was cobra when they had a different fitting but that changed with the new models I believe. The only time there was a issue was the odd TaylorMade wrench that would bind and wouldn't click.
