    Default Xmas Mug 2022 - 18th Dec @ 8.30am (10-club challenge)

As we’ve not had many catch-ups through 2022 lets make sure the Xmas Mug event takes place (must admit I’ve not touched a golf club since the 2021 event!)

Seems the preferred date is 18/12/22 so that's what we are running with.

    Ins:-

    TC
    Marcel
    Nadg63
    Hard_Pan
    DMG
    Wazamac

    hippo10
    Hatchman

As per TC's suggestion and for something different lets go with a 10-club max in the bag!

Correct, both Xmas Mug and Jacket are stored at my place.

    Looking forward to this.

I'd like to suggest starting another tradition for this round.

I propose we introduce a Christmas Ball into the comp. I have a bright red ball that would be ideal for the job and raring to go!

    The way I see it working is we all have turns at hitting this ball for one stroke each in a strictly numbered order as we go around (whilst playing our normal round), with two main goals;

    1. First and foremost - do not to lose the ball and,

    2. Count each stroke to see how low (or high), we can go by the end of 18 holes. We then record the score and see if we can do better the following year.

It looks like there's going to be enough for two groups this year so I propose that the first group have the ball for the first 9 holes and the second group get the ball for the second 9. We all toss balls at the start to work out the hitting order.

Up for debate is whether to call this particular game quits when the ball is lost or we have spares and just add two strokes to the score. Whoever loses the ball is obliged to donate one for the next year's round.

I reckon it'd be fun but am happy to go with the consensus.

Don't like the sound of number 1 (for obvious reasons!).

    But I'm in for this.

Just to be crystal clear about my idea. We all play our normal round with our normal balls but (with my proposal), there's this other 'Christmas' ball in the background that's being played at the same time. So, every four shots (if there are 4 in the group), everyone has to hit two balls; their own and the Christmas ball..
