Default Bali - 20 years ago

Its been 20 years since the Bali Bombing - 12/10/2002.

Here is a story on Sunrise, many of you know Ben as a long standing Ozgolfer.

I had no connections at that time, but having been to that bar it was a little close to me, but i now have 2 great friends who have lost a lot that night. I also vividly remember when Jason McCartney in his first comeback game (and last) kicked those two goals against my Collingwood - first time I ever cheered for the opposition, because thats him representing all of us "we were not defeated".

Yep, sad day. I lost a mate in the prime of his life that day. Too young, too soon.

I wasn’t aware of the McCartney story as it was before I moved here. Just watched a video on it, very emotional, but and amazing sporting moment.

    You’re getting old though Blakey.

He kicked 1.1 and it was against Richmond. He did setup the winning goal with not much time left.

i Played at Kingsley Footy club the next year, tough to see some of the guys come back to footy without their mates and Wayne Brittan coming back to play with burns over his body. Inspirational. Also saw some guys spiral from the memory..
Why exactly do I need to answer to you?

it must have been Eddie's commentary.

My mate was talking to me recernly about a medal round Boomers Olympic game that I had to watch from back in the day. He sent me a message a half hour later clarifying that it wasn't in fact a medal round game, but an exhibition game that meant nothing. Amazing what time can do to our memories.

I would hope not, or else you'd still be in just a little bit of pain.
