We have to bring a green forward and move the next forward too, shortening both holes.

Not because of houses though. Somebody is gonna pay us $7 million to let them fill in a lake with dirt.

    Two things.

Nets and screens don't work. No matter how extensive the protection is, golfers will find a way to avoid it, or in some cases, find the one golf ball sized hole in the net, and go through it.

Secondly, it is usually either the club itself, or the local council, who have allowed the building to be erected in the firing line, so usually there is no legal recourse if a property owner complains. I've seen these disputes many times, and the club always loses, one way or another. All the club can do is take the action required to reduce the risk, as Wynnum appear to have done.

It sucks, but that's the way it is.

Just ask them how much they cost. If a club had to pay for that there’d be no golf course

15th green and 16th tee. There’s a road going in on the mangrove side of 16 to get to the lake.

9th green is also being moved forward and a new practice green being built apparently.

Yep but I’m keeping an open mind. They might build a fun green for a short par 4.

At our club in Australia, some lawyer has threatened legal action due to the amount of balls landing in his yard. As a golfer himself, he went ahead and bought a house 150m on the right handside of the first fairway. Prime slice territory. The first tee box has now been moved up to make a 100 yard par 3 but alas, he's now complaining about the noise. What a great guy.

    Someone should blow lawyers up.

What an awful thing to say.

They should die a much slower and more painful death than that.

Perfect. I’d love to see a lot more chaos.

My club is in similar position right now.

We have been quoted circa $1.25m for a fence that still may not solve the problem entirely.
