    Default Gold Coast

    Hi Everyone,

I'm going to be visiting the Gold Coast with the family next week. I'll be staying in Burleigh Heads and will not have the use of a car.

What are my nearby golfing options? Is it worth bringing over my sticks for a round of golf and a visit to Top Golf with the family?

I'm trying to decide if I should get a round in while I'm away, or just travel lightly.

    Any advice is appreciated.

Obviously I've not even remotely played them all but I've enjoyed Links Hope Island, The Glades and Lakelands (for their Ding-Ding cups alone) when I've played on the Gold Coast.

Any of those are definitely worth taking the crubs along.

Burleigh is a bit hard to get on... but i could introduce you to my mate there if you are a decent bloke. He is retired now ( but youngish) amd plays off 1, he plays a lot now.

Most of the coursea are in the Carrara Floodplain, Palm Meeadows is the centre of that if looking at a map

I might be able to host you somewhere... but i am a bit busy.... got CC's now and play the seniors events regularly so i dont wanna overdo it.

Nwxt week i could do Thur or Fri? How about i try hook us up at burleigh

I wouldn't cross the road for most of them, The Glades (10kms from Burleigh) is probably your closest best option.......its OK in terms of the Gold Coast.

I was up there a month ago, Sanctuary Cove and Royal Pines were very wet, hopefully someone can provide an update.

Burleigh greens reno next week. So thats out.

If you gotta choose a fancy course, Lakelands, Royal Pines, Hope Island in that order.

Glades has gone downhill a lot, i last played it about 13 months ago. But i heard this week they got a new super and he is turning it around.

I couold look into Murwillumbah, best course in Gold Coast ( and its not in Gold coast)

Tell the missus you’re playing golf and go to Hollywood’s instead.
    Forum needs more banter.

Like everything else on the Goldie, the golf should not be taken too seriously. If you must, go somewhere for a hit and giggle with a local and have a few beers. Spend the rest of the time with the family.

I’m liking the idea of catching up with / meeting a few of the boys. That’s sounds like a great plan.

Burleigh is tight and boring. Don’t bother. The Glades is good fun but gets pretty wet when it’s wet. I’m a big fan of Cooly-Tweed River course and Murwillumbah, which is mostly on some undulating land so shouldn’t be as soaked as the flat Goldie tracks. If you want to go to TopGolf, book well in advance. It’s crazy there.

    I found some Options
Friday - Murwillumbah from 12.30 no comp $35
Friday - Cooly Tweed West comp, from 11.30 $55
Thursday - Kooralbyn copperhead comp, any time $85 (cart)
Friday - Kooralbyn social any time $70

The highlights are Thu Kooralbyn or Friday Cooly
Murwillumbah has a shotgun comp in morning, and its full

It will be stroke off the back tees

And it's a 1.5 hour trip each way from Burleigh.

Hadn’t thought about that. That’s the same as Brisbane CBD to Kooralbyn. Oh well, time in the car to reflect on the Queen.

    Comp sounds great.

If it’s too far, I’m fine playing somewhere closer.

I could kit you up with full kit of sticks. Got some borrowed ping S55 with X flex, 0.75" longer and a little Up, they formerly belong to a 6ft4 aussie player. Then i can throw in driver, 5W and wedges with nunchuck shafts.

All that would work unless you need silly long stuff
