    Good day for me today
38 points good enough for 2nd in A grade (I’m sure the low markers are complaining as I’m at the top end playing off 10)

Thought I had a few ntp to but no luck
5th put it to about 1.5m but no ntp on that hole
8th about 1m but had lady’s 2nd shot on that hole

33 points today with a couple of wipes (15/1, pretty ordinary conditions through the front 9 but the rain cleared for the back 9. Started on 10 today. Driving was pretty ordinary. Approaches and short game kept things respectable, if only a few burnt edges had have dropped.

    Saturday
    Presidents course at Tocumwal
    8/14 for 22 points
    2 birdies
Eagle chip that hit the pin and lipped out
    Sunday
    Captains course at Tocumwal
    11/14 25 points
217 mm NTP candidate that was beaten, 70 mm. Both shots hit the pin.
Great courses, I have forgotten how to putt as well.

Dismal 24 points yesterday. Way too many fat shots, although I think I've worked out why it was happening, I was inadvertently lowering myself either on the backswing or when transferring weight forward for the downswing. I didn't have any issues hitting chips or short pitches fat so I'll work on that before Saturday.

24 Saturday, 25 Sunday. Track was a heavy ten, it was cold, and I felt like shit generally. But two rounds closer to blowing out to the form I am in, not the form I was in back in April and May. A daily of 10 as it warms up? Yes please

I haven't posted here for a while due to bulk chopping and an embarrassing soft cap.

Moved softly into less embarrassing form with 6 rounds in the 30s (30-33) - hit it pretty well except for 1 or 2 blow up holes a round.

Came home to the Mary, when it all clicked. 2 rounds in the 70s, and it was bloody nice to feel like I was playing golf again.

    Wed 10/08 - Mary GC
    20/17 37 off 9
    7 GIR
    2 birds
    0 3jags
    0 doubles or worse

    Sat 13/08 - Mary GC
    36/41 77 Nett 67 (-3)
    7 GIR
    2 birds
    0 3jags
    1 double

Since I was soft capped, handicap hasn't dropped as much as I would like. Hopefully the form continues to get back to a sensible cap.

    2 rounds on the weekend.

1st round of pennants on Sunday, putted poorly and went down early. Won 12, 13 and 15 to get back to all square on the 16th tee, then had to stop due to bad light (slow day, waiting on all tees, and we were the last match).

Redland Bay pro-am yesterday. Hit the ball well, putted worse than Sunday with 38 putts (plus another one from the fringe). Pro we played with said "You'd be a pretty good golfer if you weren't a really shit putter" (although he phrased it more nicely than that).

How was Chris going before bad light stopped play?

Was up all day until his opponent chipped in on 14 then holed a good put on 15 to get to all square.

19/17 for 36 off 8 today. It was a nice return to form. Might win a ball but it was a vast improvement over the weekend

Change of putter, rolled greens and a general just feeling better.

Terrible golf this morning, although started to pull it together towards the end. Played holes 1-10 in +11, and holes 11-18 in +1.

    Default WDYSTM - August 2022

13/08/2022, Wolston Park GC (Scr 65 Sl 107 Par 67), Stableford.

    Strokes Gained vs Scratch

    Scoring: PBBPPPXPP PPBBBPXBP ; 39:38:77 (+4:+6:10); stab 16:16:32pts.
    Played to 12.7. Golflink 8.8 (+0.0).

After pureing nearly every approach shot the day before in an ambrose event, despite a chest injury, I was hoping to continue the good striking into a solo round on the Saturday. Unfortunately, the injury was a bit more restrictive, particularly for driving, so the swing just wasn't the same. I thought I did well to put a score together in the end.

Do-over: I missed a short putt which I'd like to have again because I rushed it and didn't take my proper stance to avoid the slow player's putting line.
More please: I'll take an easy par on the fourth hole every time please. Now that I have backed off on the hole a bit, I've reduced the doubles, and parring more often than bogeying.

With the injury, playing this weekend is in doubt.

I'm going to break my new rule of only reporting 36 or better, and report a 35 points round today.

Part of the reason is that I am going on holiday and won't play for 5 weeks, therefore I really wanted my last round for a while to be a good one. It wasn't a really good one, but the last four holes were four good pars, so all of my earlier bad putting was forgiven.

I also wanted to report that my regular playing partner on Wednesdays shot his age two Mondays ago. At age 76 he says it was the best round of his life, so there is still hope for all of us. Naturally, he can't repeat that effort on Wednesdays, when the money is on.

Went from working at home and playing or practicing 5 times a week, to back working full time.

On top of that my coach is no longer around and I dont rate any of the other guys (all 3 of them) in the area.

35 points at Oxley today, managed to sort out the fat shot issue from last week, so the ball striking itself was a lot better, just some accuracy issues. I was hitting big hooping draws with the irons early in the round but managed to straighten it up as I went, then the tee shots started leaking right. Only hit 5 fairways and 4 greens. 29 putts and one chip in. Need to avoid the bunkers, they've just renovated them to fix the drainage problems and the sand is so fluffy you just about sink. Not easy to get out of. A couple of triple bogeys as a result of that today but happy to shoot a decent score anyway.

First 2 rounds of Club Champs. Pretty tough conditions going off the scores yet I’ve continued to play ok. A few mistakes cost me from being a couple of shots better but I’m looking forward to seeing how I go next weekend. Currently sitting in T2 overall.

    Well done, Ash.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.
