Default Late model iron set 5-PW Stiff Flex

    Hi,

Anyone looking at selling any newish iron sets? After something like P790, cobra forged tec, ZX7, I525 etc etc. They probably won't have the shaft I need in them anyway so just seeing what is out there.

Would prefer something a year or less old in excellent condition.

I have a set of 2017 p790s if they’re any use to you. Currently have tour issue S400s in them but could do heads only.

Thanks for the offers everyone, decided to go the new route and getting a set of Rouge ST Pro's. All of the players distance irons performed about the same for me so it cam down to cost, and drummond gave me a good deal that I couldn't say no to.

    What shafts did you get?

The stock Project X Rifle 105 tour flighted shaft in stiff. It performed as good as any of the aftermarket options so stuck with it.

That is exactly what I was going to offer but didn't because I thought you wouldn't be interested.

It a bit more of a hassle than popping down to Power Golf and nabbing a set of P790s, but if you are OK with buying and shipping from the States you can get a set of brand new PXG Gen3 irons for $100 a club direct from PXG or used vrom PXG via eBay

I’ve gone back to 0311Ps and my set of 4-GW with Steelfiber shafts cost me $500US.

I was well chuffed when I took them down to Pureform for one of their half-price fittings and the fitter (somewhat reluctantly) admitted that none of the other irons and shafts I tried (including the latest PXG Gen5) was any better.

Most were measurably worse, although I’m dubious about the real world accuracy of such fittings.

So I’m with the OP. All these irons perform pretty much the same. Buy the ones you like the look/feel/sound of for the cheapest price.

Feel is numero uno for me, followed by looks.

    Hence PXG
    Ping G430 Max
    Ping G410 5 wood
    Ping G425/Mizuno FliHi hybrids
    Cleveland XL Halo driving irons
    PXG 0311P Gen 3 Steelfiber i95 irons
    Cleveland CBX Zipcore
    Odyssey Rossie OG

Get some takomo 101t heads, install whatever shaft you want. They're great.
