Flinders is great fun, some really cool holes in a great setting, if you play there on a warm day there will be a stack of milf's walking their dogs along the side of 4, 5 & 6 with very little on, spectacular views.

Been a bit since I posted.

TRIP UPDATE: The trip was looking real iffy based on life items but it is still on, BUT now it is a AUS/MEL golf trip

In a twist of events the wife was offered a new job last month. A number of discussions/interviews had and she decided to take it. *A good opportunity for her and something she has wanted to branch into.

I will admit I was disappointed. I really want to play some of the courses in the area before I get to old to really give it a legit shot. She knew it and said I can go if I want. Shocked me but no way not taking her up on it.

I said we would do a family trip in 2024. Always a catch though. The SIL is coming here in November for the holiday and staying 9-10 days. I guess you can not win them all LOL

It will be a good friend and I. If we can set the schedule right I plan on doing what so many of you said.

Try to hit 4 or 5 of the top in MEL. Jump over to BarnBougle and see if we can get King Island in too.

Probably a "bit aggressive" as we only have 12 days on the ground but we may change that up and add a day or two.

Still planning the last two weeks in March '23.

12 days should be enough for 13/14 rounds of golf. Plenty of daylight to do 36 in a day.

Criticism doesn't bother me, as it means I am doing something and people are watching.

Hope everyone had a great holiday(s) and the new year is starting well.

Been some time since I posted. We changed the trip up and will be going to New Zealand first then over to Tasmania for Barnbougle and finish in Melbourne for 5 days (on ground).

We have been fortunate to connect with some fantastic members at a few clubs in Melbourne. Hope all goes as planned and will get to meet some great people and play some great courses.

Have a question on AFL? A really helpful member of a course said we should take in an AFL game but the dates did not work for us sadly. Started to look into it as it would great to see one. I see there is a game at MCG that works, April 8th. I was looiking for tickets but it appears they are not available yet? Best information I can find online is early 2023? Sorry for my ignorance if it is right in front of me and I am missing it.

    Appreciate the help as always.

Sounds about right. Richmond v dogs should be a decent game with a pretty good crowd too.

Hope Richmond win and stay for the song.

Season starts mid March so I reckon they’d like to have them available by mid Feb at the latest.

    Don't we all.

Perhaps fortunately for you, there is an opportunity to see some Rugby League (NRL). The Melbourne Storm are playing a night game against the Sydney Roosters on 6th April at AAMI Park (near the MCG).

Because it would be more entertaining for an American and he wouldn’t have to sit in a packed 100k stadium full of wankers. Pretty sure PG is just trying to help the bloke out.

    More entertaining???

Who would voluntarily go to a Thugby League game IN MELBOURNE of all places, between the worlds two most cheatingest-sides!?!

And besides, there'll only be 60K there, and only 50K of them will be Richmond supporting wanker.

    .
If as I suspect you are and flying direct to Hobart, you'll be arriving at one of smallest international airports in the world. If staying in Hobart and wanting to play, there are a couple of people that can possibly host you, myself included. And again if time permits, if you want something very Australian and golf related, Ratho Farm is the oldest course in Aus and quirky as hell. Drive time from Hobart to Barny is about 3-4 hours. Althought a trip via the east coast is pretty scenic.

Also, go to the Tigs Dogs game at the MCG. Go have a feed and beer in a Richmond pub and then walk to the ground. May I suggest the Royal hotel.....

They've actually started serving food, you can get a parma for breakfast. The beer lines haven't been cleaned since 1971
