    Hey CDM,
If you give me an indication of the dates in April, I am happy to host you at Southern GC.
The course recently picked up hosting the Masters of the Amateurs, so the course should be at its best around then

It’s a kind offer, but if you are limited in time and can secure better choices (not difficult), don’t bother slumming it at Southern. Play Vic, PK, RM or KH and a couple down the Peninsula (St AB, Dunes or Portsea).

HAHAHA Southern GC looks nice. If that is slumming it in MEL that just speaks to the level of courses in the area

Honest and unbiased, I do try my best.

But coming all the way Melbourne to play Southern would be like flying to LA to **** Kathy Griffin.

Looking like not going down the PCH based on time but would be shame to not play it if in the area.

I was a member of a US golf forum, and a bloke from Ireland was coming to Brisbane for a quick visit and wanted to play "one of those fantastic Aussie courses". One of the other members of that forum was an Aussie in Brisbane, so offered to host him. I think we can all guess where he took him.....

    Some follow up info:

Wife/SIL settled on dates. *for now that it is. Current dates on ground are March 20th - April 1st. *Might come over a couple days earlier

To protect my "sanity" I informed the wife we are getting our own place. 24/7 with them, sorry to much. I reserved a place in the CBD area currently. Figure while I golf at a minimum she has access to food and can shop, etc.

    Golf:
IF.... I can get away for 3 days, is taking the flight over to Barnbougle Or King Island worth it? Which would be better? Barnbougle sure looks like a must but CW and OD look incredible too. It does add some $$$ but if in the area I am thinking I have to do it if possible.

As to responses on here I can not thank everyone enough. The information provide so far, offers, etc. Greatly appreciate it

Truly hoping some new form of COVID does not kill this trip. If goes as planned will have to figure out a way to get some pints with everyone to thank you.

    The consensus seems to be;

    1. Cape Wickham
    2. Barnbougle Dunes
    3. Lost Farm.
    Daylight. Ocean Dunes.

So the question you have to ask is do you want "the best" followed by some meh, or do you want two very, VERY solid tracks. (Other peoples opinions, not mine.)

Cost may be a factor also, as I'd assume it's cheaper to fly into a main airport (Launceston) on a commercial flight than to get a charter plane over to King Island? I may be wrong though as I've never played King Island, don't know exactly what's required to get there.

    Haven’t played 1 but I’d swap 2 and 3.

    Screw the consensus.

If you go to King Island, there is ZERO reason to waste a day playing Ocean Dunes when you could be playing Cape Wickham instead.

    The real option is:
Cape Wickam repeats vs Barnbougle Dunes / Lost Farm.

I am with you. Cape Wickham is an hours drive up the road from the airport. I would play 2 laps of Cape Wickham, one of Ocean Dunes before your flight home. If I had the choice of 2 days at King Island vs 2 days at Barney, I would do as many laps of Wickham as I could jam in. Its mindblowingly good.

I don't think some of you are being realistic in saying that one would travel all of the way to play King Island and not play both courses. WBennett's scenario is much more realistic, and has me sold. Can I squeeze in a round at King Island too?

Great info and reason I asked, real players know courses. Cape Wickham looks amazing. So if I can get away the consensus is CW and rail it as many rounds as possible over 2 days. *Figure loosing a day on flight.

I would love to do both but I know it will not be possible.

110%...! All the courses I have looked at/reviewed there is something about KH and the PK North course that draws me in. The images, reviews, etc. Those two are at the top of my list, next are RM and VIC.

Another question: Metro? Thoughts? Is there others to jump on over it? South Pen courses ?

Baring the Cape Wickham side trip (if I can pull it off...) I am pretty sure I should be able to get in 6 rounds in the MEL area.

Edit: I would be curious what everyone has rankings/favorites personally.
