Dont skimp on shoes or settle for anything. I remember the foot doctor guy telling me, if a shoe isnt perfect, dont buy it. On past experience i agree with him.

Its not just getting the right comfort. If your feet cant work properly, your footwork is going to be terrible, and that really impairs your golf swing.

Grab some code chaos or maybe even those solarthons whenever they go on sale.

If I took Blakey's advice regarding shoes, I'd probably be a better golfer, but I refuse to pay big money for them. So this is one of my few areas of equipment expertise.

But I can't help much, because my other opinion on golf shoes is that you must try them on first. Which means going to a bricks and mortar golf retailer.

My experience is that Golf World is the best one for shoes. Last time I was there they had Tour Edge shoes under $100, but not in my size. I mention this because I bought some two years ago, and they were the best shoes I've ever worn, and I would have bought another pair if I could.

The one thing I learned on my last visit is that supplies of golf shoes are/were badly affected by covid and other supply chain problems. My local pro shop claimed he couldn't get anything good. The Golf World guy said the same thing.

If you would like some cheap crocodile shoes just go to Rowes bay GC in Townsville, you can make your own

Ended up ordering a set of Skechers. They seemed to be the best value and had my size.

Every Adidas shoe I tried either looked like it was for spacemen or they didn't have my size.

All the other alternatives didn't have my size or were too expensive.

The crocodiles were tempting but not sure I would enjoy the texture.

I'd asked around previously about Skechers, and the general consensus on them was that they are fantastic golf shoes, until they're not. At some point they'll hit a wall and just feel absolutely terrible. If they were cheap enough, and that point is in two years time, then I'd say that's an absolute win.

I find that if you rotate thru 2 or 3 pairs of golfshoes they last longer. They get to dry out between uses.
Hold their shape better. I’ve got 6 or 7 seasons out of shoes this way!

I think footjoy quality has gone down hill. These are only about 6-8 months old, a whole section just feel off

Just be smart about it and play no more than once a month, some of my shoes are still in very good condition at 10+ years old.

Wouldn't be surprised. This is kinda what happens with the other Skecher shoes I owned.

I had to send my footjoy boa back and they were back to me in about 10 days. Great service.

I could understand if it was a waterproof of lacing issue as they are hard to see. But the picture clearly shows the fault. Surely they could have just sent another shoe?

I have only dealt with NB, FJ and UA, and all required the shoe to be sent in for inspection when doing a warranty replacement. It sucks but it seems to be standard across the industry. I think they want to keep/destroy the shoe so busted 2nd hand shoes dont end up on the 2nd hand market.

Have to give a wrap to True Linkswear here. My OG Premiums while not cheap in initial purchase price ~$270 are the best value and comfiest shoes I've worn.

Sadly after 22 months they started to take on water from the very wet morning dewy grass - they had a 2 year waterproof warranty and were still in good excellent condition. Contacted Jack Oliver here in Oz who I bought them from. They wanted them back to do a "tank test". Took them a week but they agreed they weren't waterproof and agreed to send me a brand-new pair. As a plus they sent the faulty ones back and said they'd be ideal for dry/summer use. Very impressed with that service.
