Read this morning that the Ryder cup TV rights holders have back out clauses if full strength teams aren't reached.

Now it depends if the definition of that would be on OWGR or some interpretation of who those players are etc

It could be the case that other businesses within golf may force PGA / DP to the round table to sort it out

If you look at the teams, the European team isn’t really missing any stars as Poulter, Garcia, Kaymer, and Westwood were unlikely to be playing.

Based on rankings the only in the USA team to miss would be DJ and Shampoo, Koepka and Reed would be marginal.

Nope, I read an article today that Stenson is considering legal action after having the Ryder captaincy taken of him.

That would be great for team harmony.

IMO there is a fair chance that Euro and PGA Tour will lose the lawsuits filed against them for restraint of trade, especially now that Casey has said that he has played non-sanctioned events before and Euro Tour didnt care.

The issue isn’t whether they’re sanctioned. It’s about playing a competing event without release.

Yeah, thats what Casey said, and I reckon LIV's lawyers would have worded that better than me I still reckon the tours are toast, they have picked a fight they wont win.

If the case is players have played other events without releases and no action was taken, then that'll set a precedent that the tours may not win. But you would want some decent evidence to show it.

Seems Stenson wanted to keep the role, and LIV no doubt would have loved him to keep it.

They shouldn’t have stripped him in the first place.

It’s Europe vs USA, not selected players that only play on the preferred tours.

Give us the best vs the best , not a watered down version.

Luke Donald would be accepting LIV money in a second if it came his way.

    Unfortunately it is but

It's designed to be euro tour vs PGA tour. I think I read that Paul Casey was ineligible for a few Ryder cups as he only had a pga card and no euro points.

But it SHOULD be euro players vs USA. And not the tours.

Maybe an independent mob, like the Laver Cup in tennis, which was basically created to copy the Ryder Cup. The tours would probably ban these players if they played in it though.

Trump can pay for it and call it the Trump Cup or as Ron suggested earlier the Riyadh Cup.

Its becoming a common theme for those rejected by LIV to rat on those who didnt. i suspect its one way of elevating their own profile and marketability

My mate was told Adam Scott and Jason Day will go to makeup the Aussie team that Norman wants.

Crash Craddock said on The Back Page that there's discussions to either remove Norman's name from the Greg Norman Medal or decide to not have him involved in the presentaton.
