The only setback is tournament fees and annual membership is fairly steep.

however i am sure the Ams in the LIV are gonna tale all the prizemoney they can get. A couple good paydays and they got their expenses paid for a year or so

What happens if the make it entertaining ?
What happens if they find a Victor Hovland or Joaquin Niemann or better
What if the commentators actually have a personality and arent all just cookie cutter boring conservatives that send you to sleep.
What if the convince Tiger to play a couple of comps...

4-5 years down the track, might be rather interesting.

The commentary team for the first event is Arlo White (EPL), Jerry Foltz (Golf Channel), Dom Boulet (Asian Tour) plus Troy Mullins (Long drive competitor) and Su-Ann Heng (Fox Sports Asia).

They offered Darren Clarke a motza but he refused as he still wanted to play the Champions Tour.

And there is the dumbest of all of it so far. Playing a rebel tour is one thing, but commentator. Whats next?

I found this an interesting read:

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/sport...k-greg-norman/

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

Certainly seems to have burnt a few bridges.

Interesting article here that breaks down the monetary situation...for the newly initiated and the lowly players in the field, the money I would think, makes a hell of a difference...

It will be for James Piot as he's rumoured to be the one with the 6m base and 256K guaranteed, same for Blake Windred and to a degree Jed Morgan.

I know what a top am from Aus got for signing with a major company a few years back.

James would have been crazy not to take that kind of money.

Certainly no fan of the proposed LIV tour & really can’t understand how anyone could sign on for them, however, I have been hoping for ages that someone, or something, would stick it the American PGA Tour.
Their unrelenting tournament schedule of the same old boring rubbish has destroyed every other golf tour on the planet.
I only hope that the outcome of all of this is an improvement to the other world tours (what happened to the other rival league ???).

Reading this makes me think of the Andy Ogletree interview I saw. He’s the 2019 US AM Champ, low Am at the Masters and he can’t even get a sponsors invite into a KFT event.

The kid that won the US Am after him Tyler Strafaci is in the same boat, he’s trying for starts on the Canadian Tour.

Winning the US Am doesn’t count for much unless you take advantage of the sponsors invites by making cuts.

Tiger’s not playing the US Open because his body’s not right but hopes to be able to play a pro am in Scotland.

And these LIV blokes are all about the money….

Tiger is using the pro am in Ireland as his warmup before the Open Championship.

I'll just leave Dusty's previous comments right here

“Over the past several months, there has been a great deal of speculation about an alternative tour, much of which seems to have included me and my future in professional golf, I feel it is now time to put such speculation to rest.
I am fully committed to the PGA Tour. I am grateful for the opportunity to play on the best tour in the world and all it has provided me and my family.”

And shampoo including last week, obviously the money was too good to refuse. Who cares about Reed but it'll give Slugger White some work to do.

Back in late February, Bryson said:

“While there has been a lot of speculation surrounding my support for another tour, I want to make it very clear that as long as the best players in the world are playing the PGA Tour, so will I.
As of now, I am focused on getting myself healthy and competing again soon.”

While just last week, DeChambeau told media that he would be staying with the PGA Tour, saying

“I think that’s mostly – a lot of it is private. There’s not really any conversations that need to be made about that, other than the fact that, like, every person out here has their own opinion on it (LIV).

Me, there’s obviously a lot of conversation. For me, I personally don’t think that at this point in time I’m in a place in my career where I can risk things like that.”

Are you genuinely interested in it? I saw some team logos yesterday and they looked so shite - if thats an indication of the product, its going to suck. Even the electric scooter Grand Prix I watched the other day had better production values.

Isn't Deshampoo injured? Maybe he knows his body won't get him through much longer and using the LIV tour as an Anthony Kim payout scenario.
