From an Aust. perspective, it appears Sonny Bill is managing Morgan and Windred. Whilst I think they could do the one and done, they are young guys with immense talent so not sure who is advising.

SMS, glad to see you and Luke E are simpatico.

They tried to sell the broadcast rights and got no takers, then offered it for free and still none.

Could be one of the reasons their Chief Commercial Officer quit 2 weeks ago.

    Mick,

It might be Khoder Nasser who’s SBW’s manager that’s handling them.

RBC drops sponsorship of DJ, I doubt he'll care if he's getting the reported millions.

    McDowell dropped too.

The LIV tour’s creation will basically create more spots for people to earn a living playing golf. Isn’t this a good thing?

I really don't care one way or the other.

FYI, 54 hole events attract zero world ranking points so won't help anyone climb the rankings to qualify for the Majors.

Guaranteed starts for huge prizemoney in their first events. Beats slugging it out on minor tours, sleeping in the car or getting by on sponsors exemptions

Are we assuming the amateurs turn pro before this?

With the money some are getting paid, I don’t think that’s a concern.

Professional athletes are of course free to make their own choices on where and with whom them play.

But choices come with consequences, especially when you choose to associate yourself with the modern day Nazis, for which many will rightly condemn them.

America never funnelled a whole lot of nazis out of post war Germany to further their own national interest and mess around with sovereign nations in central and south America.

They can just play and get paid the money, thus losing their amatuer status.

I like that idea. How often do players get reamed because they get different conditions at a different time?

They can be paid on the basis of appearance and likeness without risking their status. Same for college athletes now.
    Forum needs more banter.

Yeah the new rules are fairly broad. I have been looking into the Asian Senior tour (maybe a 2nd tier one), the qualifying bar is really low, and will not breach my amatuer status if i elect to receive prizemoney as credits for future entry fees and tournament hotel costs. The only setback is tournament fees and annual membership is fairly steep.

however i am sure the Ams in the LIV are gonna tale all the prizemoney they can get. A couple good paydays and they got their expenses paid for a year or so
