Just a few questions on the use of Turps v Metho with those that have used to remove well stuck grips?
Do you try to salvage these grips for re-use?
Doesn't Turps leave an oily residue behind that makes it harder to clean up/salvage the grip for reuse?

Yes I save them for reuse and turps dries pretty quickly.

In most cases this method leaves the grip tape attached to the shaft.

Once removed I put the grips vertically (butt down) on some newspaper so any excess turps drains out the hole in the grip butt.

The only other thing that needs to be done is to put the clubs (I.e. an iron set) in a drip tray with the head pointing upwards to let an excess turps drain out.

If it’s a single club then I do the same but with the club clamped in a vice with the shaft butt pointing down into a drip tray or old can.
