Default Gaming - PGA Tour 2k21 (The Golf Club 2019)

A few ozgolfers are playing this already, if not I recommend it, great opportunity to check out courses you might want to play or have played already. I think the PC version only about $25 now.
Personally i found it helpful to remember some of courses i have played before when on holiday.

Might be a good idea to set up a Online Society if anyone interested.

I trialed it on Xbox, but maybe it was the version before 2019, and couldn't get into it. The Xbox has shifted from a common room to a teen's bedroom now anyway.

I've been playing it pretty much since release since I play in the TGC tours, I had the 2019 one before that. I don't have PlayStation plus or whatever it is required to play live online against others though.

I am on Xbox and dont subscribe to online play either (no desire to hook online up with weirdos...) the game cant do online cross platform anyway, however can play in the online societies without the subscription thing.

I just played my first ever TGC Tour event, first time without some helpers, i have shot 83-74-70 getting the hang of it

What tier are you in? I'm in their equivalent of the European tour, one below the top tour. From what I've heard it's not as easy on Xbox because the swing tempo is a bit more erratic. But it's a fun way to pass the time anyway 👍

I didn't realise it wasn't cross platform, most games these days are.

I joined a few random Aussie societies and played a few tournies, haven't played much recently though.

Anyone cluey or dedicated enough to start an Ozgolf group 😁

I've played this a bit on xbox, and a lot of the simulator version of TGC2019. There some good recreations of Royal Adelaide and Kooyonga available for 2019 (and maybe 2021 if the courses are the same?), and a few other Adelaide courses that I was involved with building.

Yep, xbox controllers are borked on 2k21 well documented. everyone plays Pro level only. Thats why you will see a few Xbox only events.

By the way. There is a user created golf course you definitely want to check out if not played already, it is like no other. Like the Scottish Play its name isnt ever mentioned. Keyword search is: Tradition or flick though the Trending courses.

There is another must play course,:
    Fruitland Farms, backstory here

I purchased it a couple of weeks ago on PS4 for $30 in a sale. Played one round on it but reckon I had it set too easy so need to tweak that. What difficulty settings are you using?

I play Pro, and turned off the stuff so i have to manually calculate effect of Wind, elevation, lie angle, and rough/ sand. I also take about 1 second to line up a putt and hit it. Works for me, my scores are realistic so i enjoy it. There is no fun in shoooting 59 every day.

It doednt really matter, the more you player the better you get ( derr !). Just keep tweaking it progressively harder every time you continuously start shooting stupid scores. I seem to have peaked where i am right now, due to xbox controller issue i cant go above pro level.

Found an absolute gem "LIDO", a genuine vintage course.

Its CB Macdonalds famous lost course, which was demolished 80 years ago. Interestingly, there are two replicas, Ballyshear in Thailand by Gil Hanse opened in 2021 and another in Wisconson by Doak opening 2023.

Anyone who is an arkytectcha addict will love this, and if not get on it anyway. Impressive.
