    Default Back weighting driver shaft

I bought a AD DI 7x driver shaft, but it plays a inch short of what I want.

If I add a inch and change to my preferred grip that is 10 grams lighter the swing weight will change 5-6 points for extension and more for lighter grip.

What is the best way to get swing weight back to what it is currently (which I like)

Do you have driver weights you add? 2 grams is an increase by 1 SW.I think every 3 layers of tape under the grip is a decrease by 1 SW.Otherwise might be worth trying to see if you like the shaft 1" shorter than you normally use.

What make/model is the driver head? Does it have any weights you can remove?

If you can figure out how much weight you need to change something like this might help:

Great thank you If I reduce the weight in the back of the driver in theory it should launch lower and spin less right, as the COG will move forward

That should be the case. But it won't make a big difference. If any weight gets added back to the front of the club, that will make more of a difference. That is where lead tape becomes handy for tinkering.

I have lead weights to back-weight irons, but I have never tried back-weighting a driver shaft. Lead tape wrapped under the grip is another option.
