Default 2022 Leon Treadwell Memorial Golf Day, Fri Aug 12, 10a

Time to head back up the mountain again and play golf in memory of our forum founder, Leon Treadwell, and raise some funds for the Toowoomba Hospital Oncology Ward.

The event hasn't officially launched yet, but I was leaked the date a few days ago. I expect the official launch to be early next week.

In the meantime, we can hussle some teams together for the 4 person ambrose.

    Team A
    AndyP
    goughy
    shazza_rs
    peter_rs

I'll let you know more details, as I find out.

If you are talking cash, I don't really want that, as I don't even usually carry a wallet. But something electronic on the day could work.

10am shotgun start. I don't know what hole we are off yet, but I did request that our groups be adjacent.

Shall I pay both entry fees back to you? I don't think Paypal will give their fee back though.

Whatever works. Pay them both. I am seeing Brendan in a week or so anyway.

Payments received for both Petey and Riley.

I refunded your initial payment in Paypal, which meant Paypal had a second dip of fees, unfortunately. The other payment, I did as a free payment to skip Paypal.

Unfortunately, I'm carrying a chest injury, so skipped golf on the weekend and the public holiday yesterday, in the hope that it would come good. It isn't great, but I think it only affects my follow through. Our skipper, BYU, might have to carry the team.

4-ball ambrose is a putting competition. I'm sure you can still do that. Do they have a minimum tee shots per person rule?

Three per person. I'll have to stick them close to the pin, since I may not have the ability to hit bombs.

Ironically, the one they took fees from is still "pending" and the free payment came right through. So for that added cost you get less service. Cool.

It was a fun day, for sure.

Playing well helped, in what was potentially my best ever ball striking with approaches. 13/18 greens hit from approaches with the misses being one on the fringe, a straight hybrid that kicked into a bunker, a hybrid approach for my second shot to a par 5 that bounced through the green, and two legit mishits.

Not that there was a gross prize (complaint lodged), but we missed out on that by just one after a birdie fest to start. The one bogey hurt, and it was harder to maintain the birdies once the strategy of tee shot management needed to be considered.

    Long but thoroughly enjoyable day.
Petey and I provided comedy relief to BYU's bombs off the tee and Andy's pure irons.
    Well done to all involved.

It was a fun day. Great for me and Damoo to be spectators. Andy's irons were something else, most impressive.

At least we rolled a few putts in.
