It will help briefly, but the BOM are forecasting the same level on rain again on Monday.

Continual setbacks for the courses to recover. I wonder how long this will continue.

September I heard. But more likely its Scott Morrisons fault for not getting to net zero 5 years ago, people are dying. Adam will fix this.

It was in better condition at Oxley today than it was last week, despite last night's rain.

Was going to have a hit at Hope Island this morning however there was only 12 spots available for members and 256 booked by social groups. Interesting place to be a member as there is a larger proportion of tee time allocation for social groups than members.

The Brisbane Vets played Parkwood for the first time yesterday. Unfortunately the course was a bog. Carts were on paths only, but a lot of them were flooded as well. Quite a few greens were bare, the grass killed off by acidic soil as the sulphates leached to the top. It was Preferred Lies with optional Tee Up. A lot of the time tee up was the only option. It was a shame as the layout isn't too bad, but you never got to enjoy it other than on the par 3s.

My course was the worst i have ever seen on Saturday. It was not even close to this during the big wet of 2010/11 when we lost 70% of golfing days in 12 months due to rain. Large areas of bog anywhere there is houses above the fairway. The water in the ground just cant get to the stormwater creeks across the other side of the fairway.

I have heard some other courses had a push buggy on paths rule - thats a first but i now see why.

That appeared to be where most of the standing water was coming from at Parkwood as well. The houses are all above the course. And their dams and waterholes were reasonably full but not overflowing. The 30mm they had received since Friday didn't help either.

Woodford is suprising very playable at present, wet in the low spots and off the fairways, but pretty good really, carts back on with some no go areas marked, preferred lie through the green.

We had push buggy’s on paths the front 9 at Burleigh a week or two ago. They could have almost closed the course for the day. Was a bog, water laying around & rough long enough to lose balls as was too wet to mow. Not enjoyable.

    Here we go again.

After over 30mm on Friday and forecasts for another 100+ over the weekend my course is closed for the weekend and Monday with a decision Monday for Tuesday.

With more rain forecast for next week the coming weekend looks unlikely.

Fortunately missed the worst of it here, only got light rain for a day across Friday and into Saturday, still about 20mm or so. I should have stayed home Saturday, but I went and had a hit anyway. Course was carts off and pretty soggy.
The rain stopped Saturday arvo and the course was surprisingly dry yesterday and I had a better time of it.

4 once-in-a-hundred-year rain events in 18 months will do that.
Cinderella story, out of nowhere, former greenskeeper, now about to become a Masters champion..... It looks like a mirac.. It's in the hole! It's in the hole!

Agreed, in the last 6 months I’ve never seen the level of damage to my course in the 40+ years I’ve been a member.

For what its worth, we have had bugger all rain in Canberra and all courses are open and in great nick. If anyone from southern Sydney is prepared to go for a drive for a hit, Gungahlin Lakes has an open comp on Tuesdays - we were getting a few Cabra and southern highlands members coming down for a day trip during the last flood.

Drove past New Brighton (Sydney) or whatever it’s called these days and the water is 3 fairways across from the river….
