My work colleagues husband is a painter. It’s a family business.
He still paints with his Dad.

I reccomend doing it yourself. I painted a whole house once and it was an experience.

I've also done it a few times, inside and out. I would do it again if I was un(der)employed and it made sense to do so. I have actually been trying to replace the tin roof on my house and the quotes I am getting make it more sensible to take two months off work and do it myself.

My house is entirely weatherboard outside and VJ inside so prep is a torture I can only assume they inflict on Guantanamo inmates.

Is it just me or is getting stuff done now becoming STOOPID expensive?

We want 2 x 30m2 areas of paving done and even getting the guy to throw some old stock in for free from other jobs, and using fairly cheap pavers it's sill in the vicinity of $8-9k.

At that price I'll do the ****ing thing myself.

My old man and I laid all of these:

From memory it was just under 1500 200mm x 200mm pavers (I could be remembering that wrong though, it was nearly 10 years ago). I was ROOTED. And my poor old man with his ****ed back already... *whoops*. At least I did the majority of the laying, he wouldn't have been able to move for a week if he did that...

Exactly. and you are older now.

Offer Bushy a carton to help you out, Courty can do the design work, and Bob, umm, yeah.

    Yes.

    Used the company Shaz recommended.

Found them to be an honest old school family business.
