34 points today with two wipes, one from hitting the tee shot out of bounds. I couldn't be bothered walking all the way back to hit another one, should have hit a provisional but oh well. Apart from that nonsense I pretty much played to my handicap which is all I was aiming for, dropped it down a little more.

    Default WDYSTM - February 2022

    North Haven Stableford
    36pts (16-20)
1 birdie after just missing long eagle putt, x2 triples.
Chipping and pitching sucked. Driver and irons were sound but didn't hit enough greens from good position. Putted well rolling most putts right where I wanted but read them poorly so was just missing a lot.
Won A Grade and went out 0.5 how good is that?

Thanks mate. It’s funny to ‘feel’ like I’m just chopping it around on the front getting a bit frustrated only to finish the way I did. The pint of Coral Sea Lager at the turn certainly did the trick.

Final round of club champs yesterday, and I was able to turn a 1 shot lead into 3 by the end of the final round. So I won, but it doesn't feel like I should have.I had rounds of 79-81-79 playing off 4, but as I am the lowest handicap player for the club, and we only had 7 players in A grade, I will take it.I am 9 behind on nett
Spoke with the club pro after the round, I will start with some approach lessons in a couple of weeks, and map out a plan. Next year I would like to defend my title, but also play the Beaconhills club champs as well.

Another round, another missed opportunity because I'm a spud ****. Putted right handed, meh.

73-3-70 (37 pts, Cairns white course)

    12/14 effective tee shots
    12/18 GIR
    33 putts
    3/8 up 'n' downs.
    3 birdies
    10 pars
5 bogeys (4 of them softer than Nanna's scones, and one where I made a good recovery then ****ed the chip anyway cos I'm a dumb ****).

Hit it solid, short game of a 20 capper, nothing changes.

90/73 at Redland Bay today. Weather wasn't great so it could have been worse really. Drove it well hitting 10/14 fairways, could only manage two greens as my irons weren't great, although if there was a fringe in regulation it probably would have been about 10 or so. Short game wasn't too bad with 60% up and downs, leading to 27 putts. Didn't start well with a triple, but was feeling better after 4 pars in a row following that, until a couple of quad bogeys on 7 and 8 courtesy of stupid shots into the water. Played the back 9 in +5 to avoid it blowing out. Next round next Sunday at Oxley again.

    I'm back baby, I'm back.

Well back playing after a forced covid hiatus.

31 points. Still very inconsistent, all over the place off the tee and find myself scambling too often.
I did putt a little better though

20/02/2021, Wolston Park GC, Blue Tees, Social.

    Score: XbPBBbPBP bbbBPbBBX 38:34:72 (+3:+2:+5).
    Played to 7.4. SCH: 8.4 (-0.3).

    Most. Birdies. Ever.

6 birdies, even though I only hit seven greens in regulation. The putter is hot at the moment, and the short irons are doing a good job. Mid-long irons still need some work though, but I'm hopeful that it will come.

Unfortunately, I soured the round with the finish (and the start). Even par through 16, and two over through 18, including one under for the nine, but I triple bogeyed the last. I snap hooked the drive seemingly OOB, but it must have hit something and came back in, so I made sure of it with the three iron, by hooking that into the maintenance shed. Ouch! Not sure what happened there, besides it obviously being a choke, as the process was fine.

    Run of scores update: 86, 80, 79, 77, 76, 75, 72.

36 points off 15 at Brisbane Golf Club.

Very happy with how i played after finally getting back into somewhat regular golf.

7 pars, 9 bogeys and 2 triples which ruined a potential much better score. Out of field of over 140 only 7 people beat there handicap for the day.

    33 putts, 9/14 fairways and 6 GIR.

Down to 14.8 from 15.2 after the round

    Well done, Joe. Congratulations.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

    Saturday... 23 points. Everything sucked.
Sunday, Pennant at Cooma. One over 37 round the front to turn 5 up, got to 6, dropped two shots to lose two holes, but held on 5 and 3. Team still undefeated and top of the ladder after 2 wins and 2 draws with three rounds to go, but we have a bye - need to win our last two to guarantee finals, but one might be enough.
