The front is just okay IMO. And stupidly disconnected after they removed the original second hole. 1 & 2 (the original 3rd) are pleasant enough.

On the back, I reckon 10 and 18 are both really fun par fives, but what sits in between them is a complete letdown.

Gezz OZG has a lot of tough crowds that's hard to please

david you mentioned you want to practice more before you go. IMO your intention is wrong from the get go.

(To me anyway) Bonville is the kind of golf course that you smell the rose and look at the scenery while you hitting the little white dot. The golf itself really is not that important.

I called and picked the least busiest time slot and just play by myself. I was on the golf course for about 5.5 hours, no one in front of me, nor behind. I was just taking a lots of photos with my phone at the time because it was so beautiful.

It's true that the "tidy-ness" of all 18 tee boxes/greens is not always top tip. You got a few that's damn good, a few that's so so and a couple just trash! But the overall scenery is amazing.

Oh, try their cart.... it's literally got a recliner type of seat on it!

I shot 84 for that morning, par the #9 par 3 which is 200 meters long, and taken about 400+ photos, had a great time and plenty of photos to show and glory stories to tell my missus when I join her back into the motel.

(then we travel to hunter valley to get f$%^* drunk )

Andy - good to hear from you. CraigD says hello. My comment about practicing more was based on the fact that I derive enjoyment from playing better golf. While I am sure I would enjoy the woods from an up close and personal view as I look for my umpteenth lost ball, I would much rather play decent golf AND take in the sights.

That kind of prestige is a reasonable excuse to charge $160

Criticism doesn't bother me, as it means I am doing something and people are watching.

I just measured some of the green to tee drives on Google Earth.

    2-3 is 550m
    7-8 is more than 700m
    9-10, 12-13, 13-14 and 15-16 are all 300-330m

Makes Hamilton Island seem connected by comparison!
