Northbridge was perfect prep for the old course, so so much in common 😂To be honest anywhere in Sydney is a come down from Kingsbarns as I’d put it into my top 10 courses played. First play at North Ryde & it was meh.

I played Brisbane a couple of weeks ago, and it was in great condition considering the rain that we've had. It is quite heavily bunkered and the greens are a good test.

On Thursday I played Kooralbyn with a few of the OZg lads, for the first time in many years; probably since the Qld OZgolf Champs were there. It is in a beautiful setting, and the holes are great, especially the par threes. I'd love to play it off a tee that is a bit more realistic for me, as I had to hit my #2 hybrid on three of the four par 3s, and one of those was a concession in not being able to make the distance. It is let down by the cost and the condition of several greens. I'll also give a negative mention for the cart paths, which were not in a good state.

I'll be looking to play an "away" course about every two weeks now, as I have a restricted membership at my club. That's okay by me, and was always my initial plan.

Finally played my first 18 holes for the year so time to add that and what else I've played.

Pittwater (5 holes with my 3 year old)
Ratho (6 holes over 2 days including snow and yarns from Gerg Ramsay
Denarau Golf & Raquest Club* (11 holes with the FIL) - Standard resort fare, overpriced but fun whilst on holiday. Very very dry.
Lonsdale Links* - Really good fun, good for all abilities too.
Queenscliff* - One the best sub $50 courses I've played.
Tasmania - New Masterplan now has works on a majority of the holes.

That betting would be in excess of $100k to put up and then you get the maintenance costs.

Jindalee was surprisingly dry underfoot, unlike my home course. The rain over the year has definitely had an impact on the course, as a few fairways were pocked, and at least one channel created that wasn't there before. I guess that will happen when nearly the whole course went under earlier in the year, and the water would have sat around for ages afterwards.

Stonecutters. Haven’t gotten out there nearly as often as I would’ve liked this year though. Can’t wait to see the back of La Niña.

Would’ve preferred a few more local tracks in there too instead of just the bag tag circuit, but can’t complain. Got some interesting stuff coming up in Nov/Dec too.

Hopefully we are coming to the end of it, Monash looked almost mint on Saturday after the week free of rain which pretty much guarantees it will rain again this week.
