Each group has a Rules official, I'm sure he did just fine

I don't think I saw him hit a second shot from a fairway, but yeah he's decent with the flat stick.

Few going around in hoodies, actually didn't mind it, better than the drab stuff Rory or Scheffler were getting around in.

Yep, agree, although JTs drainpipes we’re pretty random

I am not a fan of getting relief 100m off line, but hey, he used the rules to his advantage.

is it just me or have they really hardened up the course and hidden the pins.
I have played this course a couple of times and just dont remember this kind of run - the ball just isnt stopping.

    Yeah it’s baked.

Pins may have been tucked to provide a challenge with bugger all wind.

A bit of rain overnight and into the morning may soften it up a touch. Will be interesting what they do with pins considering there is also <10kmh winds for the day.

They can push the pins further by all accounts on sky. It would be better if it blew a little rather than hanging pins on the side of mounds. Day 1 was pretty much perfect. Some good scores but a lot of bad scores too. It’s not like the cut is going to be -4.

RQ has been known to allow choppers to pull off the rounds of their lives…
Cinderella story, out of nowhere, former greenskeeper, now about to become a Masters champion..... It looks like a mirac.. It's in the hole! It's in the hole!

I hadn’t thought about that but research suggests you’re correct.

He didn’t do much in any of the Aussie events after his win, the best was T8 at the TPS Hunter Valley and 4 missed cuts in those 8 events.

Isn't he a member of RQ or somewhere close?

    Massive advantage if so.

What’s it like as a spectator? Seems like the crowd is far away from the action on a lot of the holes.

Adam Scott also had a good day to put himself into T8. The leaderboard is looking pretty stacked for the moment. I hope Cam can keep the momentum going for 2 more days

The crowd isn’t allowed on the course they can only walk around the perimeter.

One of my best mates is there and says the atmosphere is amazing.

I went in 05. It’s very cool in a bucket list way and the town experience is great, but from a general spectating perspective it’s pretty ordinary. Very hard to get around, can’t get to many holes and it’s so flat that the vantage points are limited.
