Never said Smith wasn't also responsible, hard to fire a player.

All misses off that tee are very bad. Driver was a good play with 3 shots in hand. By aiming way right and drawing it back if he overdid it he takes his drop and only has a short iron left. I am fairly sure his logic was to eliminate 3 off the tee. Sure he could have hit 3 x 7 irons but that wouldnt be very sporting.

but gee wasnt that fairway fast!

101 putts for 72 holes with 10 putts on the back 9. Smith is so good. Can see him having another good Masters also.
Happiness is a long walk with a putter.

Hmm, a bit quiet in here. Maybe you haven't had time to process the news that the Greg Norman Super League Of Golf is happening, with four events announced.

I'm calling this a dud, right from the start. Nobody cares about WGC events any more, and this is proposed to be a team-based version of that. Even if they get the players, which I don't think they will, the golf public just aren't demanding to see the London Lobwedgers, led by Ian Poulter, against the Southern California Shankers, led by Phil Mickelson,

I think the dreamers behind this have identified a gap in the market to appeal to the golf gamblers. But, like most golf gamblers, they'll be losing their money.

If you have Foxtel, you may have access to the Golf.tv app hidden away in the menus. I have kept Foxtel on for this weekend only

If you are a golf fan and watch alot of it and DONT have GOLFTV I think you’re missing out.

If you’ve tried it before and wasn’t impressed I suggest trying it again. The new ESPN+ integration has really boosted the number of options for featured groups, featured holes and watching replays.

Is it part of Foxtel or can you buy it separately?

I've read a few people saying that rule shouldn't apply off the putting green, but I can see how that shot was made easier by straddling the line of play, so it's probably fair enough. Either way it was terrible luck and a good recovery though.

That reminds me about hitting a recovery chip shot back between the legs, which usually would be one handed. I dont recall ever doing it myself but i am sure plenty have, and i doubt anyone would have considered it a rules breach.

Was this rule originally brought in to stop Sam Snead straddling his putting line, assuming it was, just another rule that amateur golf doesn't need. Like the farce with anchoring, if the pros want a rule, let them have at it, for the rest of us its irrelevant.

Mickelson, Garcia sign up for Norman’s rebel Saudi tour

Phil Mickelson has signed up for the PGA Championship and the US Open, and his manager asked the PGA Tour for permission to play in a Saudi-funded golf tournament outside London without saying whether Mickelson will play any of them.

“Phil currently has no concrete plans on when and where he will play,” Mickelson’s long-time manager, Steve Loy of Sportfive, said in a statement. “Any actions taken are in no way a reflection of a final decision made, but rather to keep all options open.”

London’s Daily Telegraph, meanwhile, reports that 2017 Masters champion Sergio Garcia has also sought to play in the opening event of Greg Norman’s rival tour, joining English duo Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter.

Monday was the deadline for players to ask for a conflicting event release from the PGA Tour to play in the inaugural LIV Golf Invitational from June 9-11 in England.

Watching Jason Day have a shocker was rather hard this arvo.
Poor bloke couldnt get the club on the ball - and the putter was stone cold.

Good to see how far they can hit it on wet fairways though . . .

It was really hard to watch but I kept watching hoping he would bounce back but to no avail.

Max Homa is such a pure player. Since he’s gone to Mark Blackburn he’s a completely changed player.

    Happy for him.
