Yeah I do. And Phil would reckon that too as well as the bloke who wrote the apology for him

Now Norman has sent a threatening letter to the PGA Tour Commissioner.

At least Sharky isn't trying to be everyone's best buddy like Phil, he's trying to push the envelope for the best players to make more money, when they want and where they want

If there is a list of reasons behind Normans motivation for what he is doing, then that whilst is a residual benefit is going to be right down the bottom if on that list at all.

Phil loses Workday sponsorship and Callaway "pauses" its.

Also gone as host of the American Express (old Bob Hope event) in Palm Springs.

These corporates are piss weak. They will all be singing the "doesnt align with our values" line. (Vomit) what Tiger Woods did was much worse and look how quickly they all forgot about that.

Actually a few of Tiger's sponsors never came back including AT&T, Accenture, Buick, Gatorade and Gillette.

These days no big corporate wants bad PR given how activists will pound them on social media and anywhere else they can get an audience to air their grievances.

Tiger could still make them money. That’s not a given with Phil.

Phil’s Workday contract was up and wasn’t going to be renewed anyway. They had already chosen to go with Rory instead. KPMG is a bigger one and more hypocritical given their own work for the Saudis. Callaway will be back once the world moves on. Amex is fair enough. Phil wrote the operating agreement for a rival tour so hard to see him hosting a PGA tour event.

And the Tiger comp is a poor one. All Tiger did was cheat on his missus, like every single pro athlete ever. Even Arnold Palmer got up to worse than Tiger.

My worst fear is that Phil inadvertently blowing this all up means the PGA Tour thinks they’ve won and nothing changes, because as a product the tour still sucks. There’s an opposite field event on next week for Christ’s sake.
Cinderella story, out of nowhere, former greenskeeper, now about to become a Masters champion..... It looks like a mirac.. It's in the hole! It's in the hole!

The Memorial is an invitation only event with only 120 players (not the usual 156) so the Puerto Rico event gives the others a chance to win and get a 2 year exemption.

Which raises the question, if you’re not good enough to be invited to a 120 man event, do you deserve a 2 year exemption?

Of course nobody cares about wife cheating. I am referring to his treatment of those women. Alan Jones was cancelled out of existence for something he said, a common idiom but that made him the worst mysoginist ever... and so many others have too, like Mickelson just because they said something.

Its a disgrace that these corporates yield to these activists. Their bottom line would improve if they just ignored them.

Do you really believe the last paragraph? I am pretty sure they are cancelling contracts so they don’t lose customers and hence protecting their bottom line.

Absolutely, they are concerned about a backlash from customers and especially those who are considering buying their products/services.

No amount of PR can wash that away and the “hunker down and wait until it passes” strategy doesn’t work in the current climate of activism driven by social media.
