    Default Grips for arthritic hands??

So do any of you know any oldies at your clubs that can recommend some grips for arthritic hands? Had a game the other day and really noticed, at least for the first little while, that my usual grips were a bit harder to hold. I am getting quite sore hands and fingers, and take regular mobic for them at the moment. So if I'm going to play a little bit more golf again I think I need to do something about it. Currently using stand rugger ping grips on my clubs, and they are still the original grips that came with them (ping i3+, so clearly I don't change them often). So something like Tour Velvets, I guess? Would just going a bigger size grip (not one aimed at arthritis) do the job?

I'm assuming they are generally a larger grip? Can that have any affect on your swing (used to find the size of the grip on my squash racquet could have an effect).

hey goughy, been using golf pride MCC mid size for 4 years now and have great success.

It doesn't affect my swing at all, still shitty LOL.

    Moving to mid size will help. There are specific Arthritic grips that seem to help;

The guy at Golf National is very knowledgeable, but he is also very talkative!

There are plenty of options on eBay as well.

The Tacki Mac ones have been around for a long time and seem to be popular. The Champ and Karmas are good brands, but I am not as familiar with their Arthritic models.

The thick grips for arthritic hands are generally thickerin the bottom section. So any thicker grip with more tape would have the similar effect. I know lot of people just put more tape at the bottom

The tips of my fingers are stuffed... the last knuckles. Cant bend em or pick up something with fingers in the morning, like grabbing hold of the blanket to throw it to the side to get out of bed. Also becoming uselsss at opening jars so aside from taking out the garbage i am practically redundant at home.

Havent done anything about this for golf yet but guessing my days are numbered.

My issue is more so curling them up into a fist; my worst joints are all my seconds.

Goughy — Golf Pride CP2 Pro and CP2 Wrap might be worth a look.

The rubber on these is super soft and I have found they dampen vibration more so than, say, a Tour Velvet.

Also, they are slightly thicker than a normal grip and they have a reduced taper.

Gripmaster Kangaroo Leather, expensive but worth it.

I have uber sensitive skin, and they cause zero eczema or friction. Very very soft, almost to the point where you play many shots without a glove.

Also consider the Bionic gloves, they have a specific version for arthritis, but i think any of their model is helpful. I prefer the Pro one.

I used Winn excel wrap in midsize with 2 papers underneath

The grips are super soft and impact absorbing, very tacky (when dry)

They don’t last long but easily the best soft grip I have ever had

Lighter clubs, Midsize grips... and shallow the swing...

Cant stress that shallow the swing bit enough - the less you hit the ground the better

Thanks for all the advice and suggestions!I don't wear a glove at all.Pretty sure my swing is already shallow. I tend to nip the ball off the grass, and if there's a divot I've hit it fat. Makes my big miss hit hitting it thin, which hurts like a bitch now days..... Big issue with my 3 wood at the moment.Clubs are ping i3+ over size with cs lite stiff shafts.

5 months, that seems about standard for me!
I'm thinking of trying GP TV +4. With regards to grip tape, will any double sided tape do the job? And what to you use for solvent? Is it metho, or shellite, or something else?

Not an oldie but the Champ C2 Arthritic grips from golf national are quite decent grips for the money. Can get them from their store or eBay. They look good too. I would also use some sort of insert like the prosoft inserts and/or switch to graphite shafts. Any double sided tape will work. Mineral spirits and Terps both work. I use hairspray as it is less messy and seems to work almost as well.
