WTB: Junior clubs for a 12 yr old
Hey all
My son has taken an interest so looking to pick up a 1/2 set to suit him. He has played a handful of time in the past but that’s it.
He’s about 155cm at a guess
Anyone have anything available?
I’m in Moorabbin, Melbourne
Cheers!

From experience of doing the same a few times for mine and friend's kids is that FB Marketplace and Gumtree are your best bets. Look for Ladies sets as they generally have softer and lighter shafts better suited for a 12yo plus are also generally shorter so you may avoid the need to have them cut down which can add costs but am sure some of the Mebl crowd here could help with that if needed.
Don't expect them to be the premium brands and alike but they allow your son to swing his heart out and discover the joys of the game. If he gets the bug he's going to need a new longer set with firmer shafts as his grows in height and strength anyway.
Quick search and this is something that may work - https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/box-...set/1284092802

Find a pro shop that does US Kids - pay once and keep trading as they get taller and stronger

Thanks for the offer but I'll keep looking. It looks like in the Ping range I'd need the Thrive model not the Moxie.

I had good luck sourcing clubs for my 13 year old from this guy on Gumtree. He was very helpful and clubs arrived promptly. They were in good shape and suited my kids fame well. The clubs were not a name brand, like Tour Special or something, but they fit and the shafts really suited him. $150 for a half set + Wilson Harmonised Putter + a driving club. My son was left handed and options were less than limited.
Another option might be to check out ladies or japanese clubs on ebay.
