Default An equipment 'game' (of sorts) - guess the ball

I've done this before, but a bit of fun (hopefully) in these crazy times.

We all know that certain balls spin more than others around the greens. Down below are three videos (touch wood) - see if you can guess which ball is which purely on the basis of how they reacted on the green.

All three shots were from around 100m (110yards) with my 50 degree wedge and were reasonably even in strike quality. I was aiming at the centre of the green, and all three end up in around about the same spot at the front of the green (right hand side of the video). The ball is MUCH easier to see in full-screen mode.

The three balls were from the following:
    • Titleist ProV1, ProV1x and 2020 AVX
    • Srixon Z Star and Z Star XV
    • Taylor Made TP5X
    • Bridgestone Tour B X
    • Maxfli XS Tour
    • TopFlite XL
    • Callaway ChromeSoft and ChromeSoft X

No-one has got it, but most are pretty close to the mark, and it was pretty tough to work out from that list to be fair. I assume after 24 hours that most people who want to play have done so, therefore:

1- Top Flite XL (Toxic and AussieAshley)

    2 - Chromesoft (no-one)

    3 - ProV1x (MTB)

I was just mucking about when I did this, but actually found the watching the results quite fascinating. All three pretty much ended up at the same distance from the centre of the green, but they all got there very differently. The poor old TopFlite, which must be in excess of thirty years old now, flew like a busted duck, and I actually didn't think it would even make the green, and clearly had zero spin. The Chromesoft performed roughly how I would expect, as it is the ball I play normally. However, the ProV1x was a surprise, as it carried a lot further than the Chromesoft, which I wasn't expecting. I might need to have a bit more of a play with the ProV1x and try some shots with minimal spin.

Edit: 5th hole at Armidale for those who are interested.

Unfair! Top Flite XL is also a new ball ( isnt it?) I thought they rebirthed the name recently.

The V1X was an easy guess, its the spinniest ball now.

I actually didn't know that there were new Top-Flites - might have to go looking now.

As a teenager, I loved the TopFlite Plus and HotDot Plus - Titleist were well beyond my very meagre means at the time, and those two were seen as a step up on the TopFlite XL and B51XD.

From memory the new Top flite is attracting some attention, there was some chatter about it on one of the big forums.

Its got little dots in the dimples.
Dont think its available in Australia.

Sounds a bit like the new Bridgestone e12 Contact. https://www.bridgestonegolf.com/en-us/balls/e12-series/e12-contact
