One my mates told me his Sydney club has followed the Royal Melbourne edict of no jab, no play with no end date.

Thank goodness these golf clubs are keeping golfers safe while walking outside.

Queensland requiring a negative covid test within 72hours prior to arrival, but it taking up to 4 days to get results.

There is going to have to be a rapid rethink of health policy, testing requirements etc at state and national level - what we have now is not working, as systems become overloaded. Glad I don't work in it that area...

Is this what we were promised 2 years ago? Get vaxed and then let it in and run amok because few end up in ICU? To hell with zero now - let it run.

What was the stat I saw the other day - with roughly 95% of the eligible population vaccinated, but the 5% unvaccinated account for 95% of hospitalisations.

Even mild covid seemingly has significant side effects, some long lasting.

I would love to hear from someone on here about their experience.

FWIW, I was at work Monday, the bay 2 down from me now has 4 positives.
The wife went to a lunch and dinner for work Tuesday, and 4 people from that function are now positive.

We have been waiting for days for results - she is locked in our room, I have the rest of the house with the kids and in-laws.

And in the last five minutes, the wife is cleared. She still has to isolate until Wednesday, but I am free!

Other states have dropped this requirement. Travellers are no more likely to have covid than residents now anyway, and all the travel related testing is taking up testing capacity that would better used for close contacts and symptomatic people. Hopefully QLD see sense and do the same thing soon.

Like I mentioned earlier, I wouldn't want to be making health policy right now.

Got it back at start of November

Absolutely horrible. Wouldn’t wish what I had on worst enemy.

Might not hit everyone the same, but it knocked around something shocking

I had horrible body aches and pains. Panadol didn’t touch the sides, had to call doc 24 hours in and get strongest pain killer I could handle

    Bad fever, chills, headaches.

    Tired, no energy.

Think of worst proper flu you’ve ever had and multiply by 1 million is how j best describe it.

I’m mostly back to normal, but suffering horrible brain/mind fog

Can’t concentrate, forget stuff I did 30 mins ago. Have to write down every conversation I have for work now as forget most stuff.

On the mend and 2 days left of isolation. Was like a bad cold the first 2 days. Happy that I at this point in time have not passed it on to Tayla. She has had 2 negative PCRs in the first 6 days since my positive.

Daughter has just returned a positive rapid antigen test. Now the whole house is in lockdown till we can get PCR tests done. Here I was wondering how I was going to use up some of the ten weeks sick leave I have accumulated. This will be a good start.

If your employer is like the company I work for you'll still need a Medical Certificate to claim it as sick leave. Ahole companies aren't telling their employees this as its a ploy to make people use annual leave / long service as it helps a companies bottom line to pay approved leave as opposed to sick leave.

Already sorted. I have come across a few like what you described. And assholes is not a strong enough description for them. Thankfully it also helps that I have accrued that much leave. Not usually someone that takes sick days.
