    Default Lowood Cup, June 25

Anyone interested in playing the Lowood Cup on Saturday, August 21 at Lowood GC? It is a single stroke event with multiple grades. $25 will get you in the comp, and include a burger. Tee times are 6-8:30 and 10:30-12. At this stage, the early slot would be my preference.1. AndyP

Interesting considering golf is classified as exercise, which is only meant to be with one other person not from your household. I'm sure things will be clarified in the coming days.

No comps but 4 in a group it seems. Champs moved to November so keen for this if it goes ahead and we are allowed out of our lga. Not certain we are allowed to do that.

I thought we weren't allowed to go outside the affected LGAs. Not sure on comp status. Dumb if they are out.

We’ve got groups of 4. No NTP’s, flagsticks back in etc

No comp on Monday but there are comps for the rest of the week. Presume they are waiting on clarification

Here's what Gailes put out, which would rule out an open major comp in another LGA, like the Lowood Cup.

    • Government would prefer if clubs restricted access to players within the local LGA if possible
    • STANDARD CLUB AND SOCIAL PLAY ONLY (Stableford, social scores for handicap purposes)
    • No major club competitions, no open days, no interclub events, no prize presentations, no rakes in bunkers, no NTPS’s, flagsticks to remain in

Assuming this was updated today, it looks like all comps are cancelled. From Qld Health.

    Can I play golf/tennis?
Yes. Golf and tennis are permitted as forms of exercise but you cannot participate in organised matches or fixtures. It is recommended that you wear a mask when physical distance cannot be maintained and whenever you are inside a club house or similar. You can play with small groups but you must not have more than 10 people gathering if you are in an impacted area. Taken sensible precautions like not sharing equipment and, for example, using separate golf buggies.

The new regulations that AP has quoted have no end date right? So just need to wait a week to see what happens.

There are qld senior events been played 12/13/16/23 this month. Havent heard any updates yet about these.

The Moreton District Golf Association has told Lowood that this event is still on. Surprising!

I have been offered tee times between 10:10a and 10:50a.
    Still good to play?

We are doomed. Current restrictions extended until 4pm 22nd. ie golf ok, members only etc.

But going to see a hooker is ok. I can understand the difference.

Okay. Maybe another time then. I don't have a partner to play in the 4BBB at WP anyway.

Didn't it already cover this date? I can't keep up.

Anyway, for now we are booked for 11:10a. Which works in well for having the included burger between the two laps.

Where does the members only stuff come from?

Is it a rule some clubs have put in place because fields are full?

Booking was confirmed yesterday for a group under my name. They don't need names and golflink numbers, because they are old school where you write your details on the scorecard yourself.

My understanding is it is part of the agreement with QH to allow Golf. Clubs were asked to not allow players from outside their LGA. Major events e.g. Cup events are not allowed anyway, at least not in the 11 SEQ LGAs. I assume Lowood is outside the 11?
