    Default 2nd Near death Experience

Well they say it comes in 3's but I did not realise they account for close shaves with death.
This afternoon number 2 was seen. Driving down the M5 near Liverpool the car in front ran over a steel rod flicking it up into my path. Rapid application of the brakes saw it spear through the grille of the car. THe rod was about 8feet long and about 2 inches in diameter. If I had not slowed down, one of us in the car, Rachelle, Tayla or myself would have been pretty badly hurt if not killed.
Car is not too badly damaged. Airconditioning Condensor is punctured, radiator is intact but smashed off its mounts. Bumper bar is stuffed and a few bits and pices are broken.
We are all ok so I gather that is the important thing. Hopefully this does not effect my OzGolf Week next month.

Saw the thread title, thought you might have tried the jetstar in-flight meal.

Keep your head down (and here's hoping there is no #3)

Glad to hear the family is okay, Grunt.

Was the pipe on it's way down when it hit the car?

Yeah it was coming down, it flicked up about 1 metre above roof height.

I am sick of morons who can't securely transport objects in/on their vehicles. We were burling along one of the main highways in Sydney a couple of months ago and encountered a bed matress in the middle lane. I would be very surprised if there wasn't an accident because of it.

    I'm glad you're okay, Grant.

Ok pics indeed make the damage minor but if it were only to hit above the bonnet the outcome would have been far more damaging to both car & Family.

Well car is in the panel beaters. I have been informed that it should be fixed by Friday. That means no golf in the first part of this week

Just rang the Panel Beaters. They can't get the right parts, Ford sent them the wrong Bumper bar and air conditioning condensor. Not looking good, not likely to get it back by tomorrow afternoon. Bugger was hoping to get it back early enough tomorrow to get a game in.

Well I think they may have put the hard yards in, they rang me earlier this morning to tell me that it will be wrapped up by 4 this afternoon. Going to ride the MTB to pick it up later. Will be able to play tomorrow
